Cape Town, safari, Victoria Falls and everything in between, from £4,349 per person ✈️🌍

11 nights across South Africa and Zimbabwe, a holiday for two that brings together coast, city, wildlife and one of the world’s great natural wonders, all with comfortable, well located stays and the key experiences already taken care of.

Start with three nights in Cape Town, based close to the V&A Waterfront with its shops, markets and harbour views, and Table Mountain and the city’s coastal drives within easy reach.

From there, head into the Eastern Cape for three nights at Kariega Game Reserve, a private, family run reserve known for its warm hospitality and varied landscapes of hills, bush and river. Enjoy two game drives a day, guided bush walks and river cruises on the Kariega, all malaria-free.

Break your journey with a relaxed night in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) at the boutique Singa Lodge, before flying on to Victoria Falls for three nights at Insika Lodge. From here, take a guided tour of the Falls themselves, spend a full day exploring Chobe National Park, watch game gather along the Chobe River and cruise the Zambezi at sunset.

Discover Namibia at your own pace, from £4,299 per person✈️🇳🇦

13 nights, one privately guided journey through Namibia, travelling with a dedicated English-speaking guide and driver by your side the whole way.

Start in Windhoek before heading into the Kalahari, a vast semi-desert the Bushmen call the “soul of the world”, where gemsbok, springbok and giraffe move across red sand and thorn scrub. From there, wind through little farming towns to the Fish River Canyon, Africa’s largest, its walls washed out over millennia and glowing gold at sunset.

Base yourself in Aus to explore Kolmanskop, the diamond boom town swallowed by the dunes, and the wild horses of the Namib grazing near Garub. Then it’s on to Sossusvlei, where dunes climb past 300 metres into a hard blue sky and the petrified trees of Deadvlei stand stark against apricot sand.

Trade desert for coast in Swakopmund, a quirky, colonial seaside town between the dunes and the cold Atlantic, before heading into Damaraland to see the ancient rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site set against folded mountains.

The journey ends in Etosha National Park, two full days on safari watching elephant, lion and rhino gather at the waterholes, staying first at a camp on the park’s edge and finishing in a tented bush camp deep inside it.

🐘 This World Conservation Day, we’re spotlighting Uga Ulagalla in Sri Lanka.

They have just finished the second phase of their community elephant fence near Anuradhapura, working alongside the local community and the Centre for Conservation and Research.

The five kilometre electric fence protects 65 farming families and around 132 acres of farmland, while still leaving elephants free to move naturally through their habitat.

Rather than shutting elephants out, the fence works as a gentle deterrent around villages and crops, easing human-elephant conflict without causing harm, so both communities and wildlife can share the land more safely.

It’s an extension of the resort’s Elephant Research Centre, set up in 2020 by Head Naturalist Katharina Raaben with Sri Lankan conservationists Dr Prithiviraj Fernando and Dr Jennifer Pastorini, and follows an earlier fence that’s already changed daily life for 70 nearby families since 2023.

Guests at Uga Ulagalla can visit the centre and hear directly from the team tracking elephant movements in the region, then spend their days exploring the Cultural Triangle, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and Minneriya and Wilpattu National Parks, with horse riding, kayaking and organic farming experiences right on the estate.

Begin with four nights in Loisaba Conservancy, home to Kenya’s second largest elephant population and a resident black leopard that’s become one of the country’s most talked about wildlife stories.
