It's the little things… 🍐🍅💕

Every week we put together a welcome pack for our guests, and it's something we get so much lovely feedback about.

But this week we've added something a little bit extra…

Our own homegrown pears and tomatoes from the garden and allotment. 🌿

There's something rather lovely about being able to give our guests something that has literally grown here at The Copse.

We want our guests to relax and not have to worry so they contain Pizza and garlic bread for your first evening meal and bacon, bread, butter and ketchup for bacon butties in the morning and of course tea, coffee and milk because we all need a drink after a long journey.

We want everything to be easy.

And judging by the lovely comments our guests leave, it seems those little things matter.

So this week's guests have a few treats waiting for them, plus a little taste of The Copse itself. 🍐🍅

We have been lying to you!

Not intentionally, before we renovated the cottage and renamed it Copse on the Broads it was called the Old Stables so we assumed as you would that it used to be a stable block but after a previous owner of the house popped round to introduce herself we found that it was in fact a pigsty!

So not the grand house and the stable after all but we love all animals so we don't mind

We walked the next leg of the Angles Way.

Harleston to Needham

Mostly field walking so quite pretty. We were disappointed when we got to Needham. We had planned to stop at the Red Lion in Needham for a pub lunch but when we got there it was closed .

No matter JD young Harleston to the rescue.
Lovely food, really dog friendly and they even served Charlotte's favourite w**e!

Advice if you are thinking of walking the Angles Way when you stay with us

If you are walking all of it don't expect to be able to eat in Needham or Brockdish and if you are choosing from a few parts of it don't choose the Harleston to Brockdish section.

It is not always feedback that makes us happy sometimes it is a comment.

A guest shared with us that she had recently lost her father and had decided to come for a break away.

She said the cottage was perfect

Mostly because she didn't have to worry

About her dog - He was allowed to roam anywhere and snuggle on the sofa

About her husband - He had mobility issues and the fact that the cottage was all on one level and has a large walk in shower (we can also provide a shower seat if needed) meant that she could relax

She also loved that she could walk to the marshes whenever she wanted and just be amongst nature, think things through and clear her head.

This for us is just why we created Copse on the Broads.

We are not Cornwall with it's surfing or Wales with it's climbing but we are a relaxing, peaceful, stress free place that cares about you and your dogs and wants you to relax, recover and recharge.

As the sun sets on summer 2026 we reflect on what an amazing summer we have had!

Copse on the Broads has been really busy, we have met some fantastic people and gorgeous dogs.

We have been lucky that being by the coast it has been slightly cooler here than it has in the towns.

Summer 2027 is starting to fill up so if you would like to stay with us reserve your break at www.copseonthebroads.com.

We look forward to meeting you.

Exciting!

A Red footed Falcon has been seen in Lowestoft.

As you know we love birds and are always excited when we spot a new bird.

We haven't seen it personally but there are lots of pictures on our local Facebook sites. We will definitely be keeping our eyes open.

We walked the Lowestoft Scores

They are a great way to learn more about the history of Lowestoft.

Be warned it's quite hilly but don't worry there are several dog friendly cafes to rest at along the way.

Our hearts are full!

For the last 39 years East Coast Truckers have put on the Children's Convoy. Taking sick and disabled children from Great Yarmouth to Pleasure wood Hills where they all enjoy a day at the amusement park.

People line the streets the whole way waving at the kids whilst the driver sound their horns.

It is so special and a must watch for us.

A fun morning marshalling at the Africa Alive 5k run.
Perfect running conditions, everyone did so well
It was great to see more than 900 running, having run it last year we can say that having the distraction of the animals when you are struggling is great.

Such a great 5k run to do if you like something a bit different.
