I’ve been interviewing some truly inspiring people for the documentary — riders, creators, wanderers, people building a life with purpose.

Here’s a short snippet from a powerful conversation with an inspiring couple who travel the world creating content that genuinely uplifts and connects. No fixed office. No conventional path. Just curiosity, courage and a commitment to telling meaningful stories.

What struck me most wasn’t just where they’ve been — but why they do it.

This Sunday! Free Bike Ride Event funded by Cycling UK with people on Mobility Scooters welcome to join too!

Thanet Sprocket Rockets Community Cycle Club funded by Cycling UK would like to welcome you to come and join them for a monthly 1 hour Cycle Ride from Margate Train Station.

All wheels welcome including mobility scooters and children encouraged. This will be a 1 hour ride with a stop for drinks and a chat and will be mostly on the Viking trail either towards Westgate or Palm Bay.

Please come if you'd like to meet new friends to cycle with or if you'd like to build up confidence in cycling.

They will be meeting last Sunday of every month to start with and will be organising more challenging rides soon.

Thanet Sprocket Rockets Community Cycle Club is funded by Cycling UK and is totally free to come and join.

£5 bike rental available from The Bike Shed in Margate Train Station before the ride.

Why This Place Matters.
A breakdown that changed my trip.

During a solo 2,000 km ride through Italy in November 2024, I descended out of the Apennines and hit a cobbled street in a remote mountain village — hard enough to destroy my derailleur on the spot.

By pure chance, I’d stopped right outside a small mountain bike hire shop. It was closed. So were the few hotels and hostels in town. Eventually, I found the only English-speaking person in the village, who helped contact the local pilgrim accommodation. They opened it especially for me — and that night, I had an entire medieval seminary to myself.

The next afternoon, I met Emanuele, the owner of the bike shop. He arranged for my bike to be repaired in a nearby village — a two-day wait.

Instead of leaving me stranded, he took me out into the mountains on an incredible e-mountain bike.

It was only my second time riding one.
The power amazed me.
The climb was tough but exhilarating, the views endless — and at the top, we rode alongside wild horses on open mountain ridges.

It became one of the best days of my entire journey across Italy.

Emanuele is cool, warm, and generous — a real pleasure to be around, and someone who clearly loved sharing his mountains. That unexpected breakdown is what brought me here — and it’s why I wanted to share this place with others.
