Matlock Bath Parish Council is appealing to the area’s thousands of visitors to support its call for a once-busy coach park to be reopened to tourists, as Derbyshire Dales District Council considers whether to prolong a two-year encampment of Travellers on the site.

Please can you take a moment to sign our petition, if you have not managed to yet. Matlock Bath Parish Council has set up this petition to try to get our council to reinstate the car and coach park to its full intended use. Village business has suffered over the period the travellers have taken over a large part of the car/coach park. As coaches cannot park in the village any longer the coach companies have stopped coming into . Please help if this continues it will have a long term detrimental effect on the village itself.

A resident has recorded the moment a monumental Copper Beech Tree, which has been in Matlock Bath for generations, was cut down – despite the Parish Council saying this should be ‘the last resort’.
