Lovely surprise in the post today. It will be 8 years in August since we started letting holiday houses on the farm and we’ve welcomed so many since then. This isn’t totally new for us, my great grandmother let the farmhouse in summers after being widowed in her 30s and during particularly difficult farming times leaving her options limited.

A rare night the steading is empty. Perfect chance to do some weeding and cut the grass. A beautiful day and perfect blue skies looking over to the basin and Montrose.

Beautiful red sky over the Steading tonight. Hopefully that means some nice weather tomorrow 😎☀️

Second morning in a row after weeks of drizzle. Let’s hope that’s our sunshine days back 😍😍. Have a great weekend and happy Valentine’s Day to everyone.

Meet Penny who we welcomed home to the farm a couple of weeks ago. Already helping with outside jobs under the watchful eyes of Darcy.

On what feels like the 7,455th day of rain it’s another changeover for ththe Steading and shepherds hut today. It maybe cold and windy outside but lovely and warm inside with the biomass keeping all the properties toasty and electricity coming from the wind turbine.

Still snowy on the farm, thankfully the biomass boiler is keeping everyone warm.
