On Monday, I spent the morning at a training session with Transun, one of our trusted Lapland partners, diving into all things snowy escapes, Northern Lights and Father Christmas experiences. Rail holidays are having a moment, and this one really raised the bar. My clients flew out to Norway then swapped planes for panoramic windows and winding tracks, starting their “Norway in a Nutshell” adventure in Oslo with time to explore the capital’s top sights and vibrant neighbourhoods. From there, they boarded the iconic Flåm Railway, snaking past mountains and waterfalls into the tiny fjord village of Flåm for two nights of breathtaking views, delicious local food and a magical cruise through the UNESCO‑listed Aurlandsfjord, before continuing on to colourful, harbour‑side Bergen for more scenery and fresh sea air.

Instead of flying straight home, they turned the return leg into an epic rail journey: weaving their way back through Europe by train via Copenhagen, Hamburg and Brussels, then hopping on the Eurostar back to the UK. A head‑turning mix of iconic cities, fjord drama and slow, scenic travel at its best, captured beautifully in these client photos.

Hello October, my favourite month 🍂

There’s something I absolutely love about this time of year: crisp mornings, cosy evenings, candles on, and that feeling of slowing down a little after a busy summer.

It is also the month when so many of my conversations turn to “what shall we do next year?”
Winter sun escapes, magical Christmas market breaks, big 2027 adventures, cruises, Disney trips, touring holidays… this is when the planning really begins.

Goodbye September, what a month of adventures it has been ✨

Just look at this Canada adventure 😍

My lovely clients have just returned from an escorted tour called Niagara Falls to the Rockies with Newmarket Holidays, taking in some of the very best bits of this incredible country.

Their journey started in lakeside Toronto, with a visit to the iconic Niagara Falls, before travelling through picture‑perfect Ontario and the grand capital, Ottawa. From there they explored the French‑Canadian charm of Montréal and Québec City, then flew west to experience the awe‑inspiring Rockies, beautiful British Columbia and lively Vancouver on the edge of the Pacific.

One of the things I really love about escorted touring is that you are not doing it alone. You have a knowledgeable tour manager and local guides with you, looking after the logistics and sharing their insight so you get so much more from every stop. Their local knowledge is what turns a “bucket list” trip into lifelong memories.
