It’s always extra special when clients return to you time and time again to plan their holidays, and the Smith family have just returned from another incredible family escape!

Their journey may have started with a rather lengthy delay sat on the runway 😩✈️, but once they arrived at Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme, it was everything they needed, time to switch off, reset and reconnect as a family. 🥰

And from their review, it sounds like the hotel delivered in every way…

🌴 Space for the whole family, their two interconnecting rooms gave their family of five plenty of room, with two bathrooms, lots of wardrobe space and a lovely patio overlooking the gardens.

💦 The pools were a huge hit! The kids voted them the best pools ever, even beating Liberty Fabay! The water park was another favourite, along with the beach pier which became a daily stop for sea dives. 🌊

🍽️ Food was a real highlight, with plenty of choice at the buffet and some fantastic à la carte options. The Turkish and seafood restaurants were particular favourites, with wonderful service and staff who were more than happy to recommend dishes.

🎶 Evenings were just as enjoyable, from the beautiful beach bar to live music and entertainment on selected nights.

🏖️ And with water sports, tennis, padel, yoga, football, water polo and plenty more available, there was something for everyone, although they still managed to discover a bar and restaurant they hadn’t found until their seventh night! 😂

But perhaps the most important part of their holiday was simply having that precious time together.

A chance to slow down, switch off and reconnect as a family.

☀️ And just like that… the summer begins to draw to a close. ☀️

What a summer it’s been. Full of new adventures, unforgettable experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. 🫶🏻

July started with me getting my Disney fix at Disneyland Paris for our Travel Counsellors Ambassador Conference, where we were lucky enough to experience the brand new World of Frozen. ❄️🏰

And then came the countdown to something very special… our 20th wedding anniversary. 🥂

We headed to the Maldives, visiting two incredible islands that I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever get over it 🥹

Paradise on earth. 🌴
10 days of complete switch-off mode, barefoot islands, turquoise waters and doing absolutely nothing… except enjoying every second.

And then came the experience of a lifetime… swimming with a whale shark. 🐋

Something I’ll never forget.

August came around in a flash.

Between juggling departures and keeping the business running throughout the summer, I headed off to experience the brand-new Legend of the Seas, which I won back in February. 🚢

I was so delighted to be able to take my travel bestie Sarah along with me. 💕 We had the best time creating some amazing content for our future clients, while getting to experience what it’s like onboard the world’s largest cruise ship.

And honestly… it did NOT disappoint! 🤩

We even had the chance to visit Pisa for the day, which was fabulous. I love that travel gives you the opportunity to discover somewhere new, even if it’s just for a few hours. 🇮🇹 Even if it was to try and create these pictures in that heat🤣

Then, with only a day to turn my suitcase around, I headed home to some pretty amazing news…

Lily’s GCSE results. ❤️

I couldn’t be prouder of what she has achieved over the last six months. Watching her work so hard and seeing it all pay off was such a special moment. 🥹

And then came another huge milestone…

Joshua’s flat has finally exchanged! 🔑
His very own adventure starts in just a few weeks, and while I’m ridiculously proud and excited for him, I’m not quite sure I’m emotionally prepared for it! 😂

With everything being so full-on, I knew I needed to properly switch off.

So we headed to Portugal 🇵🇹 home from home to finish our summer, some much-needed time with our travel friends and family, and simply enjoy being together. 🍹☀️

And now… here we are.

The next few weeks are going to be another whirlwind as we prepare for Lily’s apprenticeship and her 17th birthday tomorrow, alongside Joshua’s big move.

And then there’s the travel business… which, let’s be honest, never really stops! 😂✈️

It’s been hectic. It’s been challenging.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

So, if you’ve emailed, messaged or sent an enquiry while I’ve been away, thank you for your patience.

I’m back at it now and working my way through all of your emails, enquiries and quotes from before I headed off to Portugal.

A brilliant split stay between Disney and Universal, with three boys to keep entertained, and it looks like they absolutely nailed it! 🏰🎢

From magical Disney days to the thrills of Universal, they’ve made memories together that I’m sure they’ll be talking about for years to come. 🫶🏻

And because there’s always room for a little more excitement in Orlando… they even managed to fit in an Orlando City football match! ⚽️

Something tells me this family might already be thinking about their next trip back… 😉😆

✈️ OUT OF OFFICE IS BACK ON AGAIN…😂

Sorry guys… I have another plane to catch! ✈️

Today has been absolutely FULL ON and I’m only just switching off! 😴

New enquiries, assisting clients in resort, client check-ins, new bookings, and A LOT of tickets printed, packed and delivered… basically, the usual Travel Counsellor chaos! 😂✈️

I arrived home late last night to the most amazing news… Lily got her GCSE results and we couldn’t be prouder of her! 🥹❤️ What an incredible achievement and what a start to her next chapter.

And today, Joshua exchanged on his flat! 🔑 A new chapter to explore.

So… double celebrations in Portugal! 🇵🇹🍹

Whilst I’m away, my lovely travel buddy Sarah will be taking care of my business, so you’re still in very safe hands. 🥰

The Sweet family have just returned from an incredible stay at the iconic Moon Palace, Mexico, and it sounds like they had the most fabulous time! 🥰🌴

The boys were kept well and truly entertained with so much to see and do, while the food was simply divine 🤤🍹

And then there was the golf… 🏌️‍♂️🦎
Because apparently, a round of golf in Mexico isn’t complete without a resident iguana joining you on the green! 😂

Sunshine, family time, fantastic food and a few unexpected golf companions, sounds like a pretty perfect holiday to me! ☀️🇲🇽

🚢 My out of office is now on 🚢

This weekend I’ll be in Barcelona ready to board Royal Caribbean’s incredible NEW Icon ship, Icon of the Seas, sailing in Europe for the first time. It’s a brand-new cruise line for me to experience first-hand, and I can’t wait to explore everything on board.

Sarah and I will be blogging the whole adventure (and the laughs!) over on besties_and_boarding_passes make sure you’re following along.
Our itinerary includes:
📍 Palma: such a beautiful, atmospheric city📍 Pisa: perfect for a day of history, culture and those classic tower photos
Although I’m officially out of the office, my laptop is travelling with me. If you’d like to go ahead with any quotes or holiday plans while I’m away, just drop me a message and I’ll do my best to come back to you in between sailings.

☀️ I’ll be back in the office for one day on 21 August, before heading off again on 22 August for my family holiday to Portugal. It’s certainly a summer of fun and I can’t wait to bring back even more first-hand knowledge and inspiration for your next escape.

My lovely clients Lisa & Paul have just returned from an incredible holiday to Lake Garda and honestly, this trip couldn’t have come at a better time. The perfect opportunity to slow down, reconnect and simply relax. 🫶🏻

Lisa & Paul are super loyal customers of mine and have been booking their holidays with me for many years, so it’s always extra special helping them find somewhere that feels just right.
The Italian Lakes had been on their wish list for some time, and Lake Garda certainly didn’t disappoint.
For this trip, they were looking for something authentic and traditional, with plenty of Italian charm and Hotel Regina was the perfect fit.

Think winding alleyways, cobbled streets, historic palazzos and a charming waterfront promenade… the kind of place where you can simply wander, stop for a coffee or Aperol, and watch the world go by. 🍋🍷

It sounds like Lake Garda delivered exactly what they needed, beautiful surroundings, authentic Italian charm and, most importantly, time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

🌴 Part 2 – Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Maldives 🐚

When we thought the Maldives couldn’t get any better… we arrived at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. 🩵

Just a short 20-minute speedboat ride from Malé, this beautiful island feels like stepping into another world. Smaller, more intimate and wonderfully authentic, Banyan Tree is all about the untouched beauty of the Maldives. Think lush tropical gardens, powder-soft white sand, crystal-clear waters and enchanting lantern-lit walkways that invite you to wander barefoot from sunrise to sunset.

To make our stay even more special, we were delighted to be upgraded to a Beachfront Sunset View Pool Villa. Waking up just steps from the ocean, and spectacular sunsets, was simply unforgettable.

With the island taking less than 30 minutes to explore on foot, every stroll became part of the experience. Listening to the waves, feeling the warm sea breeze, watching tiny crabs scurry across the sand and spotting the resident heron on its daily hunt… it was peaceful, unspoilt and everything we hoped the Maldives would be, to simply switch off.

A highlight of our stay was celebrating our anniversary at Madi Hiyaa, the resort’s stunning overwater Japanese restaurant. Built entirely from sustainable bamboo, it offers not only exceptional food but one of the most breathtaking dining settings we’ve ever experienced.

Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru isn’t about being the biggest or the busiest. It’s about slowing down, embracing nature, kicking off your shoes and appreciating the simple beauty of island life. It truly is barefoot luxury at its finest. 🏮

Life in the fast lane… ✈️

This week has really tested me, with one emergency after another. 😔
And then Mount Etna decides to erupt… of course she did. 🌋

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your continued patience and understanding. I’m still dealing with a number of ongoing situations and, as always, customers who are currently travelling and need immediate assistance have to take priority.
