I’m a Personal & Luxury Travel Counsellor with 24+ years in the travel industry, creating tailored travel experiences with a focus on long-haul journeys, especially Thailand, inspired by my Lukkrueng (Half-Thai) heritage. As a 'Luk Krueng' (Half Thai) born in a working class town during the mid-80s, my background seemed intriguing and out of the ordinary to many, yet venturing across the world to
visit my mother's family home (a wooden house on stilts based deep in the Thai jungle) was just a normal part of my early life. This unique upbringing instilled in me a passion for travel since as long as I can remember, the extent that my thirst for new adventures can never quite be quenched through my own experiences alone. And that's where you come in...
By creating a crystal clear picture of who you are and exactly what you are looking to get from your holiday, I'll delve into yours and your fellow travellers' minds, to the point that I can visualise being on your adventures with you! (Don't worry though, whilst I'll be contactable should you need my help with anything during your trip, I do promised not to book an extra ticket onto your flight or turn up at your hotel pool with lilo in hand.) My travel journey so far...
Since making the local headlines following my first visit to the Thai jungle in 1987, I've returned to Thailand over 30 times, including a four-year period teaching English to Thai children, enabling me to further explore Thailand and other parts of Asia. Since completing my Travel and Tourism qualification and beginning my travel career and becoming a Thailand product specialist in 2003, I have gained first-hand knowledge of both economy and business class for a wide variety of airline carriers. I have also have the opportunity to experience some of the world's most amazing hotels, including the 7 star hotel in Abu Dhabi, The Emirates Palace. I'm on course for my goal of visiting 40 countries worldwide by 2020. A few I've visited to date include Laos, Hong Kong, The Philippines. Qatar, Sri Lanka, Canada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Portugal, Switzerland, Malta and Bulgaria. Here are some of my most memorable highlights:
- Venturing up Mount Fuji during my trip to the rising sun, Japan, whilst visiting my sister and Japanese brother-in-law.
- Exploring the recently uncovered ancient temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia. (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Sandboarding down the sand dunes under the starry sky, whilst camping in the Dubai desert. Remember, if you do happen to pick a destination I haven't yet experienced personally, I have access to the combined first-hand knowledge of over 1,600 fellow Travel Counsellors to call upon if needed! For those who work 9-5 Monday to Friday, do not worry, I am available in the evening and on weekends. Contact me however you like, whether it's through email or phone (whichever you feel most comfortable with). Look forward to having a good natter with you! Many Thanks
Cara.
