Cara Hudson - Travel Counsellors

Cara Hudson - Travel Counsellors Once you're back home with your newly created memories and thousand-and-one photos, I'll be delighted to hear all about your holiday highlights!

I’m a Personal & Luxury Travel Counsellor with 24+ years in the travel industry, creating tailored travel experiences with a focus on long-haul journeys, especially Thailand, inspired by my Lukkrueng (Half-Thai) heritage. As a 'Luk Krueng' (Half Thai) born in a working class town during the mid-80s, my background seemed intriguing and out of the ordinary to many, yet venturing across the world to visit my mother's family home (a wooden house on stilts based deep in the Thai jungle) was just a normal part of my early life. This unique upbringing instilled in me a passion for travel since as long as I can remember, the extent that my thirst for new adventures can never quite be quenched through my own experiences alone. And that's where you come in...

By creating a crystal clear picture of who you are and exactly what you are looking to get from your holiday, I'll delve into yours and your fellow travellers' minds, to the point that I can visualise being on your adventures with you! (Don't worry though, whilst I'll be contactable should you need my help with anything during your trip, I do promised not to book an extra ticket onto your flight or turn up at your hotel pool with lilo in hand.) My travel journey so far...

Since making the local headlines following my first visit to the Thai jungle in 1987, I've returned to Thailand over 30 times, including a four-year period teaching English to Thai children, enabling me to further explore Thailand and other parts of Asia. Since completing my Travel and Tourism qualification and beginning my travel career and becoming a Thailand product specialist in 2003, I have gained first-hand knowledge of both economy and business class for a wide variety of airline carriers. I have also have the opportunity to experience some of the world's most amazing hotels, including the 7 star hotel in Abu Dhabi, The Emirates Palace. I'm on course for my goal of visiting 40 countries worldwide by 2020. A few I've visited to date include Laos, Hong Kong, The Philippines. Qatar, Sri Lanka, Canada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Portugal, Switzerland, Malta and Bulgaria. Here are some of my most memorable highlights:

- Venturing up Mount Fuji during my trip to the rising sun, Japan, whilst visiting my sister and Japanese brother-in-law.

- Exploring the recently uncovered ancient temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia. (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

- Sandboarding down the sand dunes under the starry sky, whilst camping in the Dubai desert. Remember, if you do happen to pick a destination I haven't yet experienced personally, I have access to the combined first-hand knowledge of over 1,600 fellow Travel Counsellors to call upon if needed! For those who work 9-5 Monday to Friday, do not worry, I am available in the evening and on weekends. Contact me however you like, whether it's through email or phone (whichever you feel most comfortable with). Look forward to having a good natter with you! Many Thanks

Cara.

Nearly a quarter of a century since I first started out in the travel industry, and now heading into my 10th year of being self-employed. Thank you so much for all your support along the way. ❀️

🌍✈️ It's certainly been a busy few weeks!

Over the last couple of weeks, I've had clients heading off to Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Thailand, Japan, Canada, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Australia, Ibiza, Disney World Florida, cruising around the Caribbean and Iceland, plus trips to China, Italy, the Dominican Republic... and plenty more! πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

It's been one of the busiest periods for departures that I've ever had, and it's been a pleasure helping everyone get on their way (and supporting those already away too!).

A huge thank you to everyone who's been so patient while I've been juggling departures, check-ins, travel documents, in-resort support and everything in between. I really do appreciate it. ❀️

Alongside all of that, I'm also working my way through lots of exciting enquiries and holiday plans, so thank you again for your patience while I work through everything. I promise I'll be in touch as soon as I can! 😊

Just a little note to explain why I've been a little quieter than usual this week. πŸ’›

Adam and I have been spending time with two incredibly special people, John and Beverly, who travelled all the way from America to visit us.

Nineteen years ago, John donated his bone marrow and saved Adam's life - a gift we'll never stop being grateful for. After several attempts to find a suitable donor, John was the only match in the world and Adam's last chance. We'll be forever thankful to John for giving us the chance to still have our Adam here with us today.

In 2023, we went on an adventure across North America, including New York, Alaska and the Canadian Rockies, to celebrate Adam's 40th birthday. Towards the end of our trip, we finally met John and Beverly for the very first time, in Toronto. As you can imagine, it was an incredibly emotional moment.

Fast forward three years, and they've come to visit us here in England. We've loved showing them around our beautiful corner of Lancashire, Yorkshire and even the Lake District, with plenty of laughs along the way and, of course, teaching them the local twang!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of my lovely clients for your patience while I've been a little slower replying than usual. I'll be catching up with everyone over the coming week, and I really do appreciate your understanding.❀️

Calling all foodies! πŸ”ŠπŸ΄

It feels all we've done is eat this week!!

I've stayed at plenty of beautiful hotels over the years, but I can honestly say the food here has been absolutely brilliant!

Unlimited a la carte, premium drinks, the quality, the variety, the presentation... everything has been so impressive. Add in the fantastic staff, and it's been such a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived.

I know I have a few lovely clients heading here over the summer, and I can't wait for you to experience it for yourselves! β˜€οΈ

If anyone would like to know more about the hotel or has any questions before travelling, please feel free to reach out anytime. I'm always happy to share my experience and help where I can. 😊

Now, if you'll excuse me... by the time it's time to head home, Adam's going to need to roll me out of this hotel! πŸ˜‚πŸ°πŸΉ

Had a fantastic time up in Edinburgh catching up with friends and attending the TC Together event at the beautiful Virgin Hotel, a small but stunning venue that provided the perfect backdrop for the event. ✨

Despite getting caught in a few rain showers during my whirlwind 24-hour visit (classic Scottish weather!), I still managed to have a good wander around the city, including a trip up Calton Hill, enjoying (ish) another wee dram, and listening to some live music - which came with the unexpected bonus of all of us witnessing a marriage proposal! πŸ’

Here’s a photo of me moments before getting rained on during my walk to the TC event, along with a few other snapshots from my time in this beautiful city. πŸ“Έ

It was brilliant to hear all about the latest developments in tech, meet some of the fantastic suppliers we work with, hear about the current destinations that are trending, and discuss all things social media. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to reconnect with friends, while also meeting some new faces along the way.

I absolutely love this city and can’t wait to be back again soon. Thanks again for having me, Edinburgh! 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨
