And just like that, our 24-night Bavarian’s Finest Tour has come to an end.

What an incredible adventure it has been! From historic cities and fairytale castles to mountain scenery, beer gardens, cycling, walking tours, great food, laughter and wonderful company, Bavaria has certainly delivered memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this tour so special. We hope you leave with happy memories, new friendships, plenty of photos, and perhaps a few extra kilograms courtesy of the schnitzels, pretzels and beer!

Safe travels wherever the road takes you next, and we look forward to seeing many of you again on another Motorhome Tours adventure.

Another stop, another castle… and what a castle it was! 🏰🇩🇪

Our stay at Lechbruck am See included a fabulous full-day excursion to the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle.

With the coach collecting us directly from the campsite, we headed through some of Bavaria’s most breathtaking scenery before arriving at King Ludwig II’s fairytale masterpiece. The guided tour gave us a fascinating insight into the castle’s history, its extravagant design and the remarkable vision of the “Mad King” himself.

After our castle visit, we made our way to the beautiful town of Füssen for lunch and a relaxing afternoon exploring its charming streets, colourful buildings and riverside setting.

Southern Bavaria really is something special. Everywhere you look there are lush green rolling hills, picture-perfect villages and the magnificent snow-capped Alps providing a stunning backdrop. It feels like every turn in the road reveals another postcard view! 🏔️🚐

To top it all off, our final stop on the tour is beside the beautiful Lechstausee Urspring, where the peaceful lakeside setting provides the perfect place to reflect on an incredible few weeks of adventure.

Oberammergau has been an absolute delight! 🇩🇪🏔️

We rounded off our stay in this beautiful Bavarian village with a fantastic meal at S’Wirtshaus Oberammergau, a wonderful family-run restaurant where owner and chef Wolfgang served up some truly delicious food. 🍻🍽️

Oberammergau is one of those places that never disappoints and always seems to offer something new to discover. During our stay we’ve certainly made the most of it – visiting the stunning Linderhof Palace, enjoying some fantastic cycling routes, sampling some excellent local restaurants and, of course, taking on the thrilling 2.5km Alpine Coaster summer toboggan run! 🎢😄

With its breathtaking mountain scenery, charming painted buildings, rich history and endless opportunities for adventure, it’s easy to see why we love returning here whenever we get the chance.

Bavaria, you’ve been amazing so far… but there’s still more to come! 🚐🍻🏰🇩🇪

🏰✨ Linderhof Palace certainly didn’t disappoint yesterday!

The bike ride there was a little wetter than planned 🌧️🚴‍♂️, but once we arrived, it was easy to forget about the rain.

Built over eight years and the smallest of King Ludwig II’s three palaces, Linderhof is the only one he lived to see completed. Nestled in the Bavarian Alps and surrounded by magnificent gardens, fountains and ornate buildings, it really is a stunning place to visit.

From the lavish interiors to the beautiful grounds, every corner reflects Ludwig’s passion for grandeur, art and imagination. A fascinating glimpse into the life of Bavaria’s famous “Fairytale King” 👑✨

🚐🍻 Oberammergau Adventures Begin! 🍻🚐

Yesterday was a travel day as we headed south of Munich to the absolutely stunning setting of Oberammergau, nestled amongst the Bavarian Alps. 🏔️🇩🇪

With a fun-packed few days ahead of us, the entertainment got off to a brilliant start last night thanks to our guests Vicki and David, who hosted a fantastic Bavarian beer tasting for the group. 🍺👏

David fully embraced the occasion by turning up in traditional Bavarian Lederhosen (and looked the part too! 😆). The beers were sourced from a local monastery they had visited earlier, giving everyone the chance to sample some authentic Bavarian brewing traditions.

Lots of laughs, great company, and some excellent beers made for a wonderful evening together. 🍻😊

A huge thank you to Vicki and David for all the effort they put into organising such a fun event for the group. It’s moments like these that make touring together so special.

Not every day on tour goes exactly to plan… 🚐❄️😅

Today we’ve had to make an unscheduled visit to a Truma Service Centre just south-east of Munich. Our roof air conditioning unit, which was fitted last year, has unfortunately suffered a few issues along the way.

The good news? Truma Germany have been absolutely fantastic. After assessing the situation, they have very kindly agreed to replace the entire unit with a brand-new one this morning.

Whilst nobody ever puts “air conditioning replacement” on their holiday itinerary, it’s reassuring when a company stands behind its product and deals with a problem quickly, professionally and without fuss.

A huge thank you to Truma and the service team for their excellent customer service. It’s days like this that remind you how valuable good after-sales support really is.

Now, hopefully, it’s back to enjoying Bavaria with cool air and no more surprises! 😎🚐🇩🇪

🍺🏰 What a way to finish our fabulous 5-day stay in Munich! 🇩🇪

On our final day we headed into the heart of the city to the magnificent Marienplatz, where we joined the crowds to watch the famous Glockenspiel perform its daily display high above the square. ⏰✨

From there it was time for a visit to the legendary Hofbräuhaus München, steeped in history and famous as the place where Hi**er made one of his early speeches during the formation of the N**i Party in 1920. Today, thankfully, it is known for far more enjoyable reasons – great food, traditional music and plenty of Bavarian hospitality! 🍻

Naturally, we couldn’t leave without enjoying a proper Bavarian breakfast of Weißwurst (white sausage), freshly baked pretzels and the customary wheat beer. When in Bavaria…! 😄🥨🍺

To round off the day, our good friend Achim treated us to a fascinating 1½-hour walking tour, sharing his knowledge, stories and passion for Munich.

A perfect ending to an unforgettable Munich stop filled with history, culture, laughter, friendship and a few beers along the way! 🚐❤️

Today our group had the privilege of visiting the former concentration camp at Dachau.

It was a deeply moving, sobering and humbling experience as we learned about one of the darkest chapters in human history. Walking through the site serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance, understanding and ensuring that such atrocities are never forgotten.

A special thank you to our outstanding guide, Rosemarie, whose knowledge, compassion and thoughtful delivery brought the history of Dachau to life in a respectful and meaningful way. Her ability to explain the events, the personal stories and the wider historical context left a lasting impression on us all.

Some places are visited for their beauty, others for their importance. Dachau is a place that reminds us of the value of humanity, tolerance and freedom.

Lest we forget.

With just over a week left of our fabulous Bavaria Tour, there’s still plenty to squeeze into the adventure!
