After many years visiting Cornwall to see family & enjoy this beautiful part of the world, we are thrilled to have our own little part of it since August 2020 and look forward to enjoying it - and sharing it with others - for many years to come. Teal Lodge is a stunning luxury Lodge with private hot tub located on an exclusive Lodge development at a relatively smaller resort . This setting offers

guests the best of both worlds with the option to cosy-up in your own space (with only cows behind the deck and the hot tub to the rear of the Lodge!) or to take advantage of the optional resort facilities including heated indoor swimming pool, restaurant, bar, children’s play area & skate ramp. Located between Newquay & Perranporth on Cornwall’s fabulous north coast, Teal Lodge is a great base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer:
- many fabulous local beaches within 10-15 mins drive
- the county town of Truro 20 mins away
- outstanding destinations to the south, east & west, all 40-60 mins away
- The Eden Project
- The Lost Gardens of Heligan
- St Michael’s Mount
- Padstow
- Port Isaac
- the Camel Trail
- or you’re welcome to just relax in the Hot Tub or around the Lodge ! Sleeps 4 + 2 infants / young children sharing
- There are 2 good-sized bedrooms - one kingsize & one twin - both with en-suites.
- Travel cot available &/or guests are invited to bring an air-bed or mattress for a 5th / 6th child guest as well as any additional towels & linen
- A maximum of 4 adults are welcome to stay

Five years of fabulous holidays, incredible experiences & wonderful memories both for us as a family and for so many amazing guests.

Oh - and I mustn’t forget to mention that today is also Tony’s 60th (!!) birthday - so double the celebrations today! 🎉 🥂

It’s hard to escape the end of holiday blues … 😢

Especially when you’ve had a fabulous week of great family days out in Cornwall 🚜, stunning local beaches 🏖️, fabulous bars 🍸 & restaurants 🍽️, time to relax in the hot tub 🫧 & a fabulous lodge 🏠 in the perfect location 📍 from which to explore all Cornwall

Magical memories made at Holywell Bay 🪄

The last afternoon of our stay at TLC so no time to waste ⏰

It was only going to be a quick stop ✋ … it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip 🥰

Delicious Ice creams 🍦 from … we chose chocolate brownie 🍫, caramel fudge 🍯 & Solero 🥭 flavours from the outdoor Carte d’Or van on the way from the free (National Trust) car park 🅿️ down to the beach 🏖️ … fabulous all round! 👌

After a little relaxing 😎 the wholly sunny skies ☀️ gave way to a bit of cloud ⛅️ but the air was still & the sea 🌊 was warm.

Perfect for a walk 🚶, and a paddle 🩴 (for those of us not in swimming costumes 🩱) while Tony, fully equipped with swim shorts 🩳 went in for a swim 🏊‍♂️ … albeit it’s fair to say that we all got pretty wet 💦 as it was too tempting to keep jumping the waves & go “just a little bit further” … with the tide coming in & more than an occasional big splash 🤣 … ah well, if@you can’t beat them, join them!! 😜

So we walked / paddled / waded / swam the length of the beach 🏝️, where there was plenty of quiet space, a few cave adventures 👀 & a quick sandcastle 🏰 build, before the tide more than flooded the moat 😅,…

Then all the way back again with more of the same fun 🤩 , just hoping we’d beat the tide 🌊 to our towels & bags!! 🎒.

Fortunately we did 😜… whether by luck 🍀 or years of practice 💪🏻

… so then, with about an hour until our dinner 🍽️ reservation, just a quick 15 min drive 🚙 back to TLC for a rinse 🚿 & a change into some dry clothes 👚 👖 before collecting Nana 👵 from Newquay and then to the wonderful in Crantock for the delicious 😋 dinner you may have seen in my earlier post ⬇️

Lots of fun & laughter 😂 & maybe a little silliness 🤪… just the kind of stuff that makes fabulous family memories 💭 at Teal Lodge Cornwall 💙

Desserts this good deserve to go first! 😋

We’ve been to numerous times while staying at TLC, but more often than not it’s been for brunch or lunch, often sitting outside to enjoy the fabulous views! ☀️

But this time we went for dinner - after a few hours on the beach & with a few spots of light rain starting to fall - so glad to have a relaxing table indoors, still with a fab view over Crantock Beach 🏖️

Nothing to dampen the spirits here though - as always, great services, fabulous food (between 5 of us we had 3 burgers & 2 fish n chips 🤣) … and treated ourselves to dessert too! 😋

I’ll be honest - I don’t normally choose brownies when I’m out as many of you will know that I mAKe them in my other business and, well, too many bought ones are just disappointing! 😬

But this one hit the mark, complete with caramel ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce & a fair sprinkling of chopped pistachios 💙

Always happy to recommend CBay … any time of day, any time of year, any course you fancy!

And just 6 miles / 15 mins from TLC too!

Trust me, I get it 🙏

After 25 years of corporate life (when apparently I never fully switched off either) …

The last 5 years have been spent developing, running and growing 2 businesses of my own - both with a high degree of customer interaction 😊

I love the challenge, the responsibility, the flexibility & the sense of achievement they both bring 💪🏻

But I also find it hard to “just switch off” … 🤯

I know lots of people recommend & enjoy social media breaks or being off-grid for a while 💭

But for me that’s not relaxing or energising - it’s frustrating & can be quite stress-inducing … 😟

So with a few minutes here & there to keep in touch, check messages & socials, & confirm business for after my holidays (politely declining opportunities while I’m away of course) … 💻

I can enjoy my holiday time much much more … & feel fully rejuvenated afterwards, with no worries as to what I’ve missed or might be going back to! 🤣

It’s time! 💙

Almost a year ago, when we were on our own family summer holiday in Cornwall, I received a call from Kylie who had just got home from her own visit, and couldn’t wait to start planning the next trip … & liked the look of Teal Lodge Cornwall!

We chatted about dates & a few other details & within hours the deposit was paid & the DD was set up to split the balance over 10 monthly payments ✔️

Along the way I’ve received so many of these countdown messages, each one making me smile to know how much she & her family are looking forward to their TLC stay 😊

We’ve exchanged questions, shared ideas & made various recommendations … 👏

And now, as we sadly pack up from our own fabulous week, I’m thrilled that their time has finally come! 💙

Are you a breakfast in PJs outside kind of person? ☀️ Me too! ✔️ One of the joys of holidays is having no fixed timetable - getting up when you’re ready & happy, not when the alarm ⏰ cruelly disturbs your peaceful slumber! 😴 Then maybe a lie-in with a cup of tea 🫖 & a book 📖 Followed by breakfast ☕️ 🥐 on the lovely rear deck enjoying the sunshine & the views & contemplating the day ahead … hot tub 🫧, beach 🏖️ or pool 🏊‍♀️ first today? Oh and no worries about still being in PJs or not looking your finest here, just fields behind TLC … no one will see you ! 👀 Hmm - unless you record yourself when you’ve just got out of bed & post jt on Socials of course … 🙊The things I do for you eh??! 😉Next availability from August 29th, open all year & booking for 2026 too 💙
