🇲🇹 MALTA ESCAPE: The Perfect Mediterranean Break Directly from Norwich ✈️☀️I have just returned from a fantastic trip to Malta. May is an ideal month to visit, offering a comfortable 24°C sunshine before the intense summer heat and peak crowds arrive. I highly recommend Malta for both a short four-day refresh or a longer holiday. Here are the highlights from my trip

:✈️ Fly Local: Flying directly from Norwich Airport is an absolute game-changer. It completely removes the stress of driving down to London airports. Security was fast, and the entire transit was calm and efficient or London and beyond may be your local departure that is also easy !
🏨 Where I Stayed: Firstly in St Julians at the boutique Melia Scirocco Hotel this is the place to be if you love to party ! Then we transferred to The Grand Hotel Excelsior which sits right on Marsamxett Harbour. It offers a great resort feel with a large pool,it is a 5-minute walk into central Valletta.

🍹 Valletta Happy Hour: Heading into the city centre for late afternoon drinks is a must. The city bars run fantastic happy hours. Sitting outside on the historic streets with a crisp Aperol Spritz, soaking up the atmosphere and people-watching, was a daily highlight. The bars and restaurants come alive in the evening with live music at many a great asthmosphere ♥️

🛶 A Must-Do Excursion: Take a traditional dghajsa water taxi across the harbour to the Three Cities. The waterfront dining here is excellent. I highly recommend BOA on the Birgu marina—the location is excellent for watching the superyachts, and they serve what is easily the best burger I have ever eaten
🏰 Exploring: Malta packs an incredible amount of history into a small space. Highlights included walking Valletta’s historic limestone streets at sunset and exploring the quiet, medieval alleys of Mdina.If you are looking for a seamless getaway straight from your doorstep in Norwich or beyond, Malta should definitely be on your radar
