πŸ”οΈ Ever wondered what it really takes to summit Kilimanjaro?
I'm not just booking your trip β€” I've stood on Uhuru Peak myself. I know which route beats the altitude best, what your duffel bag actually needs (and what to leave home), and how to time your summit push so you're not fighting 200 other climbers for the same photo spot.
No guesswork. No recycled brochure advice. Just real, on-the-mountain knowledge from someone who's done it β€” turned into a trip built around YOU.
βœ… Route selection based on your fitness & timeline
βœ… Acclimatization strategy that actually works
βœ… Gear list from someone who's used it at -15Β°C
βœ… Honest answers to the questions Google can't answer
Ready to stop dreaming about Africa's rooftop and start planning it? Drop a comment or send me a message β€” let's talk about your Kilimanjaro adventure. πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ώβœ¨

πŸ”οΈ SUMMIT SUCCESS! πŸ”οΈ

Huge congratulations to our Managing Director, Kay Batley, who has just reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro β€” the highest peak in Africa! πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ώ With .expeditionsgend. thest team on the Mountain.

From the Savvi Travel office to the roof of Africa, Mrs B has shown exactly the spirit of adventure that we love to help our clients experience every day.

5,895 metres. Freezing nights, thin air, and pure determination β€” and she made it to Uhuru Peak. πŸ™Œ

We are so proud of you, Kay. What an incredible achievement! πŸ‘

Day 3 Of 8Β· Shira 1 β†’ Shira 2 via Cathedral Point
*3,610m β†’ 3,840m Β· high point 3,962m Β· approx 11km Β· alpine plateau*

```
*Day 3: Across the Shira Plateau* πŸŒ„
Today the team cross the vast, open Shira Plateau, one of the most beautiful stretches of the whole climb, with the summit standing tall on the horizon. After breakfast they'll head up to Cathedral Point (nearly 4,000m) to gain some extra height, then drop back down to sleep at Shira 2.
This is the mountain's golden acclimatisation trick: "climb high, sleep low." Pushing a little higher in the day and resting lower at night is exactly what helps the body adapt, and it's a big part of why so many Legend climbers reach the top. The guides will be gently reminding everyone to drink, drink, drink: 3 to 4 litres a day makes a huge difference up here. πŸ’§
The plateau is lovely for wildlife too. You might catch an augur buzzard riding the thermals overhead, or a little four-striped grass mouse darting between the tussocks.
By tonight the terrain feels properly alpine and the air is noticeably thinner, but with steady pacing and good rest, they're right on track. 🧑
