Recently we had the pleasure of attending Tetra Consulting’s Water Safety for Operators one day awareness programme.

It was great to expand our knowledge on how to manage risk associated with water hygiene and Legionnaires’ disease for hot and cold water systems as well as other risk systems.

Whether you’re new to the industry or been involved in it a while I guarantee you will take a lot from it.

A huge thank you to Steven who delivered the programme. Highly recommend if you’re thinking of improving yours or your teams knowledge.

We have been busy this week carrying out our monthly water treatment PPM visits for one of our public sector customers.

If you’re running a LTHW (Low Temperature Hot Water) or chilled system, you need a comprehensive water treatment regime in place.
This will help you control the corrosion of metal parts, microbial growth, and the build-up of scale and other deposits.

It’s a requirement under BSRIA, BG50 and BS8552 that your closed systems are tested for chemical and microbial water quality on a quarterly basis. This ensures that system integrity is maintained, and that your closed system keeps running at peak efficiency.

TAB UK have the knowledge and experience it takes to carry out a comprehensive water treatment regime that meets all compliance standards and provides effective control.

Recently some health and safety concerns have hit the Government's migrant barge in Dorset with occupants being evacuated due to Legionella. Legionella can be a concern for all employers so it is important to know what it is and how it can affect people.

Legionella risk assessments are a legal obligation for every establishment that has a water system. This is outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Since the L8 Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) was published in 2001, there has been a requirement for landlords of both domestic and business premises to assess the risks from exposure to Legionella to their tenants.

If you require a Legionella Risk Assessment to be carried out or want to discuss water hygiene services off the back of a recent risk assessment then please reach out.

Last week we arranged for remedial reports to be conducted at a number of NHS hospitals, ensuring all were left with a 100% pass rate.
