🍵 Suja is Bhutan's traditional butter tea - and I was very privileged to see it being made right in front of me in a tea ceremony.

Tea leaves boiled dark, butter and salt churned in by hand, then poured out as suja, the drink that's welcomed guests here for centuries.

Watching it made at Six Senses Thimphu was one of those quiet moments that says more about a place than any sight on the itinerary.

Today's World Beach Day, and Mauritius is exactly the kind of place that makes the case for it.

White sand, calm turquoise water, and a backdrop of mountains behind the palm trees that most beaches simply don't have. It's the sort of beach that looks almost too good in photos, until you're actually standing on it.

What an exceptional place to stay! The Six Senses resort is 5 star luxury and the welcome is one of the best I've ever experienced... you can see why!

Onto the coach for the next leg of the trip through Bhutan.

Our guide broke into song not long after we set off, completely unprompted and it set the tone for the whole drive. There's nothing like it to make you feel welcome somewhere new.

Watching the country roll past the window, you get a real sense of just how different Bhutan is from anywhere else I've visited. The mountains, the villages, the pace of life, all completely its own.
