Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.
Thankfully, all Kandoo team members and their families are safe and well, and there were no Kandoo groups present in the country at the time of the disaster. Our thoughts are now with the thousands of people who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy.
Kandoo Nepal Manager Pimba Tenzing said: “So many settlements are washed away, so many people are missing and killed. Fortunately our friends and families are all safe but so many have lost their lives. We really appreciate all the messages of concern and support and our focus now is on helping those that we still can”.
Kandoo Adventures is raising funds to support relief efforts through the British Red Cross, and we urge anyone who is able to show their support and assist Nepal.
The British Red Cross is part of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, working with teams on the ground in Nepal to support people affected by the floods.
They work closely with the Nepal Red Cross Society, which is Nepal's largest humanitarian organisation, with branches in all 77 districts and a nationwide network of more than 127,000 volunteers.
The Red Cross supports communities affected by disasters, health emergencies and other crises through emergency response, health services, blood programmes and community resilience initiatives across the country. As an established organisation, they can ensure aid reaches people in need as quickly and effectively as possible.
