Young, Wild & Free at Lochend 🌼

One of the many magical things about Lochend is it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle, which brings lots incredible opportunities that modern life makes difficult. One of which is kids having the freedom to play and enjoy the outdoors in a secluded location. There is plenty at Lochend to keep kids occupied - playing giant chess, cooking up a storm in the mud kitchen, having a gentle swing, using the games room, having a game of tennis, playing ball games on the grass or hours spent in and on the water in the warmer months. There is lots to do locally but a day at Lochend is hard to beat!

Topher’s Bikes Day out! 🚲

If you have visited in the last few years you will have seen Topher scooting about on the Raleigh bike he inherited from his Dad, Jimmy.
He uses it for his daily commute from his house to the office. The Bike was Jimmy’s 70th Birthday present and has been used around Lochend its whole life. After years of use and barely any repairs, it was time for some TLC and Liam, along at Aberfoyle Bike Co., was happy to give it a new lease of life!
It now runs like new and was put straight back to work!

Slow Sundays at Nick’s 🍓

Although we are self-catering accommodation we have the best alternative for those who don’t want to cook - Nick's! They are now open for breakfast on Sunday mornings. So take your time getting up in the morning and wander over for a lovely breakfast and coffee. It was so good Orla was shouting for “MORE”! Then, if you can’t be bothered moving, just stay on for your Sunday lunch!

The little green looking goslings were keeping us all entertained dabbling about at the shore with their Mum and Dad keeping watch.

Making do to mend 🚣🏻‍♂️

Last week one of our Log cabin beds needed a wee bit of welding. Not having a welder here we needed to take the frame round to Douglas at Lake of Menteith Fisheries. As none of us had a van or a car big enough to fit it in, the boat was the only possible option to get it round there! 2 hours later it was ready to be collected and put back in for the customers. What brilliant neighbours we have!

First aid ⛑️

Topher, Karin, Andy and Bunty joined the Lake of Menteith Fisheries team to renewed their first aid training today. Thanks to the fisheries for hosting and Jo at A1 Training Services for sharing her knowledge with us. It was a great day! New hypoallergenic first aid kit in the post! But staying well whilst on holiday is the preference!! 🥰
