My old army motto was useful for bringing in the Herdie flock this morning

Fail to prepare
Prepare to fail

I had a small weather window to bring them into the barn before the next big rainfall

Bringing soaking wet sheep inside can be dangerous… they can get pneumonia

Thankfully they were just a bit damp so will dry out before shearing on Sunday 👌

I’m now doing a happy dance as it was fairly easy avoiding the cows since they took the high road and we took the low road 🙏

Donald has made a full recovery 💕

However, I will be nervous until Friday… then I’ll be bringing them all in to the barn to keep them dry for shearing on Sunday 🙏

Whilst waiting for the blood flow to return to his legs… I brought his pals over to join him for flock support… eventually 🙄😂

It was a close call for Donald this morning

This is why it’s important to keep checks on my flock… especially before they are due shearing

Found Donald couped (rolled onto his back and unable to get up)

This is an emergency situation, as a buildup of stomach gas can quickly become fatal

I rolled him over and got him to his feet

He was a bit disorientated but hopefully will make a full recovery 🙏
