Further to my earlier post about the cliff collapse blocking the Holywell Cave completely, I was horrified to discover a short while ago that my daughter Rachael and her two sons + some friends attempted to enter the cave late yesterday afternoon, but were prevented from doing so by a rising tide. Thank goodness.

For anyone I have taken to see the magical cave at Holywell Bay (see pic), sadly last night the whole cliff above collapsed and buried the whole cave under thousands of tons of slate.

This week, we have a super gang of American guests from New Jersey up here on Dartmoor and last week we showed them the best of Cornwall too. Having two distinct and very different areas in one tour is rather special. And we could not have asked for better weather!

If an epic scale of landscape is on your wishlist, then a trip to The Picos De Europa mountains in northern Spain will certainly satisfy. We make a whole range of treks in these magnificent mountains, but when we take the cable car up at Fuente De, we get to hike to some peaks surrounded by gigantic walls of limestone and absolutely stunning views. Looking ahead to September, and our most epic of current trips to the Picos De Europa mountains in northern Spain. I'll be heading up the tour along with our fabulous local guide, Mike, but if numbers allow, Martin will join us too :)

This one is for those who relish climbing a few thousand feet every day to marvel at the majesty of these mountains. It's my personal favourite tour, and exploring the trails and peaks, flora and fauna with Mike (who knows the mountains like the back of his hand) is nothing but glorious.
