Pitchford House is a newly refurbished imposing Georgian home situated in a prime position on Fore Street in the heart of Salcombe moments a stones throw from the water. Views from the house and from the garden take

in much of the estuary including the Salcombe Lifeboat, the main anchorage, up the South Pool creek and over to the beaches of East Portlemouth. This is a luxury Salcombe holiday home that is bright and spacious with high ceilings and comes beautifully furnished with textured greys and blue in a contemporary style. The five bedrooms sleep up to eleven people; three of which have stunning uninterrupted views over the Salcombe harbour.

Pink cake in the pink house 💕 Pitchford really is a most lovely base for a weekend of celebration. It happily houses multiple generations of family or a good sized group of friends. Its location, right in town, makes it super easy to pop out and eat, drink, shop without the pressure of too much planning. Many of our guests now choose to book a local chef for one or more meals well they stay. Freya, who looks after the house is always happy to share her brilliant list of recommendations which includes a Michelin stared chef, some lovey ladies who make the most delicious oven ready pies and of course a cake baker or three.

Back in London after the most glorious week at Pitchford, ostensibly celebrating a non milestone birthday but really just enjoying the friendship and free time that excuse affords.
Salcombe was so incredibly good to us. The sun shone and the stars shined. Somewhat embarrassingly we missed the whole northern lights thing by being settled in front of the fire on the night in question but I honestly wouldn’t have change a moment of it.
I have created a highlight of moments and recommendations from the week in the hope that will be useful to anyone visiting. As ever I’d love to hear af anyone else’s local recommendations too.
