Have you been to Alum Bay? We went there on our day out. It was a bit windy the day we went so we didn’t go on the chair lift but can highly recommend it and have been on it many times before. The views are amazing but make sure you have a head for heights! 🙃 The coloured sands are beautiful and you can fill your own decoration in the sand shop in the main attraction area or just admire the natural beauty from the beach. A great day out.

How do you like to spend your days off? Yesterday was our day off and we spent it exploring different places on the island. We started at Ventnor Botanic Gardens which were so peaceful and beautiful to wander round. A leisurely coffee in their cafe and then a walk down to Steep Hill Cove. The tide was in and it was a bit windy so no swimming for us but we will go back. A walk along the sea front and then back to one of the beach cafes for lunch. Delicious! We had a slow walk back up and enjoyed another wander around the gardens before going back to the car. This was our first stop of the day and well worth it. Where to next?

It may be a little overcast but the Round the Island Yacht Race is still going ahead. We have an amazing view of all the boats in Shanklin Bay. They look a long way out in the photos but they really aren’t. ⛵️
