May saw another month of sold-out tours, during which we welcomed former residents who shared their memories and insights, as well as a resident of the Golden Lane Estate, for which the unrealised competition entry by Alison and Peter Smithson first introduced the idea of “Streets in the Sky”.
We were also delighted to welcome some returning guests, including one visitor who attended with friends for their fourth tour. Each of our resident guides brings their own experiences and perspective on the building and we use a range of show flats, so repeat visits can always offer something new.
Many thanks to everyone who attended, and to those who have shared write-ups and photos on social media.
We were also pleased to host a group of international visitors from the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture and the City at the Technical University Braunschweig for a private tour. One local cultural reference that required a little explanation for our overseas guests was Bertie Bassett! Want to know how he fits into the Park Hill story? Why not book a tour for yourself this summer to find out?
