We’re excited to announce a special new event coming to Peterhead Prison Museum this Halloween, created in partnership with Red Brick Theatre Group. 🎬🔒

From 30 October to 1 November, Reel of Terror will transform the corridors and cells of Scotland’s Toughest Jail into a series of cinematic nightmares, brought to life through live performance, theatrical effects and immersive storytelling.

This partnership brings together Red Brick Theatre Group’s creative and performance expertise with one of Cove Group’s most atmospheric historic venues. It represents an important part of our commitment to finding imaginative new ways for audiences to experience these remarkable buildings, supporting local creative talent, attracting new visitors and creating experiences that extend far beyond the traditional museum visit.

The prison becomes the set. The horror unfolds around you. And there is no screen to keep you safe.

Something different is coming to the Cove Group Attraction division this September…

Shrewsbury Prison and Shepton Mallet Prison are swapping quiet cellblocks for glowing headphones as both historic venues host their very own silent discos!

Guests will be able to explore these extraordinary former prisons after dark, switch between three music channels and experience A Night Out Behind Bars unlike any other.

We're delighted to announce the launch of the new Cove Group website.

As Cove Group has grown, it became clear that our previous website no longer reflected the organisation we've become or where we're heading. We wanted a platform that better tells our story, showcases our businesses and makes it easier for people to connect with us.

The new website brings together our four business divisions, our culture, leadership, charitable initiatives, latest news and future ambitions into one place, creating a digital platform that will continue to evolve alongside the group.

This project has been about much more than building a website. It's been about creating a strong foundation for the next stage of our growth.

A huge thank you to Reech for partnering with us throughout the project. From helping shape our wider marketing strategy to designing and developing a website that truly reflects Cove Group, their team has been fantastic to work with. We’re encouraging local people to get involved in the upcoming public consultation and help shape the future of the wider prison estate.

With around 90% of the site currently unused, this is a genuine opportunity for the community to share ideas and help influence what comes next.

Potential ideas being explored include:

✔ Community spaces
✔ Leisure uses
✔ Commercial & residential opportunities

Across the UK, Cove Group is trusted to care for some of the country’s most important former prisons, places like Shepton Mallet Prison and Shrewsbury Prison - transforming them into thriving heritage attractions that protect history, support local jobs, and create meaningful visitor experiences.

Peterhead Prison Museum deserves the same future.

Right now, this remarkable site is at risk of closure. Over the past year, our team at Cove Attractions has been working in close partnership with Admiralty Gateway Charitable Trust to keep the prison open and to complete a deal that will secure its long-term future.

This campaign is about supporting that partnership, buying vital time, and ensuring the hard work already underway is not lost.
