A really important next step for Peterhead Prison.

We’re encouraging local people to get involved in the upcoming public consultation and help shape the future of the wider prison estate.

With around 90% of the site currently unused, this is a genuine opportunity for the community to share ideas and help influence what comes next.

Potential ideas being explored include:
✔ Heritage expansion
✔ Hospitality & tourism
✔ Community spaces
✔ Leisure uses
✔ Commercial & residential opportunities

Across the UK, Cove Group is trusted to care for some of the country’s most important former prisons, places like Shepton Mallet Prison and Shrewsbury Prison - transforming them into thriving heritage attractions that protect history, support local jobs, and create meaningful visitor experiences.

Peterhead Prison Museum deserves the same future.

Right now, this remarkable site is at risk of closure. Over the past year, our team at Cove Attractions has been working in close partnership with Admiralty Gateway Charitable Trust to keep the prison open and to complete a deal that will secure its long-term future.

This campaign is about supporting that partnership, buying vital time, and ensuring the hard work already underway is not lost.

We’re incredibly proud of the team on the ground and grateful to everyone who is helping to protect this extraordinary place.

This symbol, from VisitEngland is a recognition for all the hard work we have put into ensuring a clean and safe environment for our visitors and staff. The in-depth health and safety assessments we have carried out & social distancing measures we have in place.

"In recognition that this business has confirmed that they have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing."
