🌊A day on the water is always a good day but this was also really great value!!

We rented this lovely little boat for the day and spent the day going between the small islands, coves and caves at our own pace.

Without a boat licence we were limited to 30 bhp ( quite enough for me!) but with enough space for me to enjoy the sun, it was perfect!

Everything is so compact here and super friendly, we popped back to the harbour for supplies and enjoyed a fabulous Greek picnic on a deserted beach. 🏝️

🇬🇷It won’t surprise anyone to learn that food is very important when we travel!

Our lovely little villa hotel explained how they harvest their own olives to produce their own oil and I can vouch for the end product! 🫒

They explained how they carefully spread these large nets beneath the trees before they started shaking and raking the branches. Instead of the olives dropping straight onto the ground, they fall softly into the nets, staying clean and protected so they were perfect for pressing.

It really brought home how much care goes into every bottle of oil. Experiencing it first-hand made each drizzle on my bread and salads taste that little bit more special.

🇬🇷Been a busy day today… walked to Parga Castle, was a tad hot but absolutely stunning.

Gorgeous lunch overlooking the bay, moved from Parga to Sivota, had a pre-arranged call with a customer looking at her 2027 holiday, checked on my customers travelling, progressed a weekend trip for one my adventurous couples and now ready to head out for dinner.

🛳️ I’ve got a real love for this stunning yacht cruise product, so waking up and seeing it in Parga this morning was a real treat.

Emerald Kaia is the newest in their small fleet and with only 92 cabins and amazing itineraries in the Med, Caribbean and Indian Ocean it really is an amazing way to cruise.

As we sit in the harbour with a drink we watch them heading off at 8pm, meaning their guests have had a lovely full day of beaches and exploring the harbour town.

I’m sure we all remember where we were and what we were doing that day and the horror that unfolded 25 years ago.

We had been in New York just a few months before and had eaten in the Windows on the World restaurant at the top of the WTC. It’s not often that you remember a member of staff but our waiter that evening had been extra special and as a young student, told us his plans to travel and shared his life plan with us. I’ve often thought and hoped that he wasn’t working that morning and got to love out his dream. ❤️

I’ve been back to NY a number of times and visited the memorial museum twice. It really is an incredible tribute to those who lost their lives that day and especially to those who died trying to save others. ❤️

“Kalimera” from beautiful Parga and Sivota, where my travel desk is now based for a few days! 🇬🇷

Having worked on a lovely Greek mainland itinerary a few weeks ago, I was drawn to this stunning part of Greece for a short stay between Oliver finishing his lifeguard duties and heading back to uni for his final year.

Of course, it’s all in the interests of research for my lovely customers! 😉🌍❤️

I will be posting a bit as we go but so far, we’re loving the feel of the area and the views are just stunning. ❤️

Destination 8 in my long‑haul winter‑sun ideas is Florida 🌴☀️

If you fancy some sunshine with a bit more going on than just lying by the pool, Florida is a brilliant winter option. Here are 2 very different ways to do it:

🎢 Parks & Beach combo
A really popular way to do it is to mix theme‑park fun with some proper chill‑out time:
• A few days around Orlando for the big parks and attractions
• Then head to the Gulf Coast for wide sandy beaches and those famous sunsets
It works brilliantly for those who still fancy a bit of park magic, but don’t want their whole holiday to revolve around it.

🌴 Florida Keys option
Or, if you’d prefer something a bit more laid‑back, look at the Florida Keys:
• A drive down from Miami through tiny islands and turquoise water - think convertible Mustang!
• Colourful houses, great seafood and a relaxed, almost Caribbean vibe
• Lovely spots to watch the sun set and maybe try a boat trip or snorkelling

☀️ When to go?
For us in the UK, Florida is a great winter‑sun choice, with plenty of warm, sunny days while it is cold and dark at home.
