Just 3 days to go!
🇯🇵 Japan, here I come! ✈️
I’m off on holiday to Japan for a couple of weeks and couldn’t be more excited!
I’ll be travelling around Japan on an Intrepid Travel tour, and I’m in for a real adventure!
There are so many experiences I’m looking forward to, including:
🏙️ Exploring Tokyo, from the famous Shibuya Crossing and Harajuku to Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo Skytree.
🍣 Visiting Tsukiji Outer Market and having a go at making sushi.
🗻 Exploring Hakone, taking the cable car over the volcanic landscape at Owakudani and hopefully catching a glimpse of Mount Fuji.
♨️ Staying in a traditional Japanese ryokan and enjoying a private onsen.
🥩 Discovering Takayama’s beautiful old town and sampling its famous Hida beef.
🏡 Visiting Shirakawa-go, a beautiful traditional thatched-roof village in the Japanese Alps.
🍜 Discovering Hiroshima, including its Peace Memorial Park and Museum, and trying the local speciality, okonomiyaki.
⛩️ Visiting Miyajima Island to see its iconic floating torii gate.
🏯 Exploring the magnificent Himeji Castle, one of Japan’s most impressive samurai castles.
🍵 Experiencing a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and Zen meditation with a Buddhist monk in Kyoto.
⛩️ Walking through the thousands of famous red torii gates at Fushimi Inari.
🍶 Visiting a traditional sake brewery and enjoying a tasting.
From incredible food and ancient traditions to spectacular scenery and unforgettable cultural experiences, this tour really does seem to have it all!
And there’s another first to look forward to – I’ll be flying with Cathay Pacific for the very first time! ✈️
I’m looking forward to experiencing the airline and will be sharing my thoughts in a review when I’m back.
I’m looking forward to soaking up the culture and enjoying some well-deserved time away.
And of course, I’ll be sharing some highlights along the way!
