En route home after a fantastic few days at the CLIA Exhibition Cruise Conference.

After a VERY short sleep (approx 10 minutes!) at an Oslo airport hotel , we boarded our connecting flight to Longyearbye...

After a VERY short sleep (approx 10 minutes!) at an Oslo airport hotel , we boarded our connecting flight to Longyearbyen - the worlds most northernmost airport ✈️
The transfer to our hotel to drop our bags was under 15 minutes , and from here we we had the most delicious lunch to refuel before a ship tour on the AE Expedition ship - Greg Mortimer.
This ship, designed for the Arctic and Antarctic waters with its interesting X-BOW- an iconic feature of the purpose built expedition ships which allows for more gentle and faster transit speed.
We then had an interesting tour of the town , visiting the local museum , seed vaults and other top sites !
Now time for bed - with an eye mask to block out the midnight sun! (after sampling the local b**r and a yummy steak sandwich - Svalbard style 😋 )

Today I’ve packed my thermals 🧊 and swapping the heat for a trip to Svalbard 🇳🇴 in the Arctic Circle 🐻‍❄️, for an Expedition Cruise Conference 🚢

I have always had a sense of adventure (although I love my home comforts equally as much !) so really wouldn’t class myself as a true traveller ….but there’s something very special about experiencing other exciting parts of the world 🌍 ❤️

I know I’m so lucky to have a job that enables and encourages me to travel and experience different continents , countries , cultures and ways of life 🙏 🫶 🌍
During my time in Svalbard I’ll be visiting a number of ships who sail in this region and getting a taste of what they can offer to their guests .
I’ll be attending various conference sessions and networking with suppliers which will help cement the knowledge I have in this sector of specialist cruising . I can’t wait to share this knowledge with my customers who are ready to experience a holiday of a lifetime 🐻‍❄️ ❄️ 🚢
