🎉 𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲…🎉

I've officially passed £1 MILLION in holiday sales! 🥂✈️🚢
...Apparently I went over the £1m mark at the end of August, but after what was a VERY busy month, I was so focused on keeping up with everything that I didn’t even realise! 😂

What means even more is the fact that so many of those bookings have come from people who have trusted me with their holidays, booked with me again, or recommended me to someone else. ❤️

From cruises to package holidays and city breaks, I've loved helping so many of you get away! ☀️

So, thank you. 🥰

Although… considering the amount of discounts you're all getting, I think I need to work a LOT harder for the next million! 😂

🚢 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗪𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗚𝗢 𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦… 👀

Okay, maybe “never” is a little dramatic… 😂 But something I think first-time cruisers sometimes feel is that when the ship docks somewhere, you must book an excursion to actually see the destination.

You really don't! 👀

We actually do very few organised excursions when we cruise.

That doesn't mean we stay around the port, either. If there's somewhere we particularly want to visit, we'll happily jump in a taxi or public transport and head off there, or we'll simply explore on foot.

Quite often, there's loads to see and do within walking distance of the port - you just need to do a little research before you go. 🗺️

And if it's your first time visiting a particular destination, an organised excursion can be a brilliant way to see the highlights without having to worry about working everything out yourself. 🚍

But don't feel like an excursion is a must just because you're on a cruise.

You can explore independently, take a taxi somewhere, wander around, find a local café, see the sights and make your own day of it - often for considerably less than an organised excursion.

There's no right or wrong way to do it. It's about what works for you. ❤️

🚨 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡… 🚨

What does everyone think about taking children out of school for a holiday? ✈️☀️

With school holidays often being the most expensive time to travel, families can be faced with a difficult choice - pay considerably more to travel during the school holidays, or travel during term time and potentially face a fine. 💰

But what do you think? 🤔

💬 Do you agree with fines for taking children out of school for a holiday?
💬 Do you think parents should be allowed a certain number of days for family holidays during term time?
💬 Should there be more flexibility for families who simply can't afford school-holiday prices?
💬 Or do you think holidays should always be taken during the school holidays, regardless of the cost?

For me, this is a tricky one because I see it from BOTH sides - as a Travel Agent and as a mum!

As a travel agent, I see first-hand just how much prices can jump as soon as the school holidays begin. Sometimes the difference for exactly the same holiday, just a week or two apart, can be huge.

But as a mum, I also completely understand the importance of children being in school and not missing their education.

I also look back at my own childhood and some of the amazing holidays I was lucky enough to experience. Some of those simply wouldn't have been possible if we'd only ever travelled during the school holidays, and they're experiences and memories I've carried with me into adulthood. ❤️

I love travelling with my own family now and genuinely believe that holidays can give children some amazing experiences, memories and opportunities to see the world. 🌍

It can feel like a real juggling act trying to balance school attendance, family time AND a holiday budget!

So I'm really interested to hear where everyone else stands on this one… 👀
