Tomorrow I’m heading down to Liverpool to have a look around Silversea’s beautiful Silver Dawn while she’s in port.

I love these ship visits as they give me the chance to properly explore, ask questions and get a real feel for what a ship is like, so I can give my customers the best possible advice.

Silver Dawn is a particularly special one. She carries just 596 guests with 411 crew, has eight dining options, all-suite accommodation, She’s a small, elegant ship offering a very high level of personal service.

The legendary Queen Mary 2 is set to undergo an exciting refurbishment in 2027, enhancing this magnificent ocean liner while preserving the character, elegance and Transatlantic glamour she is famous for. She will be looking amazing for her return to Liverpool for the 4 Queens Event in May 2028. (still a few places available on this by the way!).

She will enter dry dock in Brest, France, on 31 March 2027 and return to service on 9 May 2027. With her first scheduled sailing afterwards departing on 9 May 2027. There are currently no changes planned to her published sailing programme.

The refurbishment will include:

Refreshed staterooms and suites
An enhanced Cunard Grills and dining experience
New outdoor deck space
A transformed Mareel Wellness & Beauty spa
An upgraded planetarium – already the largest at sea
Redesigned luxury boutiques
An enhanced entertainment programme
Reimagined kennels, allowing even more four-legged guests to travel
