Every temple in Bali asks you to wear a sarong, and how you get one varies. Uluwatu lends them for free, Tanah Lot rents them, and Besakih will bill you twice โ€” once to get in, once to borrow. Pick your own up at a local market for a couple of quid and wear it all trip.

Iโ€™m swapping emails and bookings for balloons, celebrations and a slightly questionable amount of birthday fun this weekend, from tomorrow evening.๐Ÿฅ‚๐ŸŽ‰

Iโ€™m heading away to celebrate not just me having a big birthday this year, but another FIVE of my wonderful colleagues and friends too! ๐ŸŽ‚
