The Castle of Mey always closes for a couple of weeks around this time of year for the King to have his annual holiday. He's often out and about around Caithness and generally happy to say hello if you bump into him.

🔔 Changes to opening times 🔔

Please note that the Castle and Gardens of Mey will be closed to visitors from Wednesday 23 July until Friday 8 August.

The Castle and Gardens will be open on Monday 21 July and Tuesday 22 July.

For those of you who've stayed with us and thought, 'Ooh, Armadale might be a nice place to live' - our neighbours are selling. Their house is diagonally opposite the village hall, and the land with it includes the big field to the north of Ethel's.

A modernised, decrofted house with useful range of outbuildings, stabling and registered croft in a stunning coastal setting.

The Store in Bettyhill is specialising in seafood this summer season - our lunch out today! (That's Mick with the seafood platter, unfortunately it disagrees with me, but there are still a few burgers, salads and baguettes on the menu for those of us that don't.)

Freshly made curry now available at the shop in Bettyhill on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 1pm to 4pm.

Fiona and Barry live in Armadale and Australia, I popped in as they were setting up yesterday evening and have my eye on a couple of things :)

Barry and Fiona are all set up for their exhibition this weekend - pop in and have a look Saturday and Sunday, 11-4.
