⁉️ What's the most unexpected thing you've discovered at Castle??

The medieval bridge at Warwick Castle dates back hundreds of years and played an important role in the castle’s daily life. Positioned over the River Avon, it provided controlled access into the fortified grounds while also acting as a defensive checkpoint.

Constructed from durable local stone, its design reflects the practical priorities of medieval builders, strength, longevity, and strategic positioning. While it may not be as visually dramatic as the castle’s battlements, it represents the everyday functionality that keeps a fortress running.

Today, it remains a subtle but powerful reminder that castles weren’t just symbols of power. They were working environments where every structure, no matter how small, had a purpose.

⁉️ What's your favourite castle feature in a film?

Hidden in the English countryside, Berkeley Castle isn’t just a relic of medieval power. It’s a star in its own right. This historic fortress, dating back over 900 years, became a filming location for Netflix’s The King, bringing its ancient walls and dramatic architecture to a global audience.

Famous for its deep-rooted history, including its connection to royal intrigue and the imprisonment of King Edward II, the castle now bridges past and present. Today, visitors can walk through the same grand halls and courtyards seen on screen, where cinematic storytelling meets real-life legacy.
Berkeley Castle proves that some stories are too powerful to stay in the past. They belong on Netflix.

⁉️ What would you do if your path to the throne began here?

Rising proudly above the Suffolk countryside, Framlingham Castle feels like a story carved in stone. Built in the late 12th century, its mighty curtain walls once echoed with the footsteps of nobles and soldiers.

Even sheltered Mary I of England before she claimed the throne in 1553. Today, its weathered towers and tranquil surroundings offer a quiet reminder that history doesn’t fade, it simply softens into the landscape.
