One of the first signs you’re nearing your destination when staying at the farm is Wellington Monument standing high on the Blackdown Hills overlooking Wellington and the surrounding area.

In the spring and summer, you can book to climb to the top and see the majestic views over the Blackdown Hills and across to the Quantocks. You can book via Somerset Outdoor - National Trust https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/somerset/wellington-monument Suitable for over 5s, it’s an awesome experience and you even get a badge.

Even if you don’t fancy the climb to the top, it’s worth visiting Wellington Monument as there are plenty of woods to explore and a super wild flower meadow teeming with butterflies and bees. Sometimes there is even a coffee trailer!

The incredible Andy from Water fed Wizards Somerset 🧙‍♂️ 🪄

A part of our team for the best part of two decades - we love seeing Andy every 6 weeks or so - he does seem to magically arrive whenever we have cake 🎂 🤣

Andy has been with us throughout our journey, from family home, to holiday let and now keeping our glazing shining across all three properties (and our family homes too!).

If you’re local to us with windows that need cleaning we would highly recommend you get in touch with Andy for a quote - he’s honestly magic! ✨ 🥰

He’s getting a post and a reel because he’s that great! 😂

🦌 A little reminder that life moves at a different pace here.

This young roe stag was spotted wandering along the stream at the bottom of the farm, perfectly at home among the meadows, woods and wildlife that surround us. Encounters like this are all part of the experience of staying here - a chance to slow down, explore the countryside, and reconnect with nature.

A little moment of magic on the farm today ✨
While strimming the paths along the bottom of the farm, a dragonfly casing was spotted tucked among the nettles with the empty shell left behind after its incredible transformation. Nearby, the newly hatched dragonfly rested quietly, wings drying in the morning air before its first flight.

One of those beautiful reminders to slow down and notice the small wonders happening all around us 🪶🌿

Somewhere a bit different just 25mins drive from here is Meadow Somerset - cafe, sauna, event space. We had a glorious morning experiencing what they had to offer. Relaxing in the sauna with the sound of birdsong and the occasional steam train from West Somerset Railway in the distance, followed by a delicious brunch complimented perfectly by Brazier Coffee Roasters coffee.

If you’re staying here and fancy a morning out I would highly recommend giving it a go - you could combine it with a steam train outing to Minehead for fish and chips in the afternoon!
