Starting October 12, 2025, the EU is introducing a new Entry/Exit System (EES) for non-EU travellers.

This will replace manual passport stamping with digital records, and could impact border procedures for travellers from the UK, US, Canada, and more.

Brilliant Lady from Virgin Voyages has arrived into Portsmouth and for the next two days will be hosting Travel Agents, Media and Guests.

She will then be sailing off on a shakedown cruise for Virgin Voyages friends and family before starting her Mer Maiden Voyage in New York.

I’m very lucky to be on board today, exploring the ship from top to bottom and finding out all that is new, if you have any questions about Brilliant Lady let me know in the comments.

In 2027 Qantas Airways are launching the world’s longest non stop flight.

It will operate from Sydney to London with a flight time of just over 20 hours, with a distance of of 17015 kilometres.

Currently the longest non stop flight is operated by Singapore Airlines between Singapore and New York, which covers around 15300 kilometres and takes around 18.5 hours.

Qantas have named this Project Sunrise, a nod to the fact that passengers will witness two sunrises in one single flight, pretty surreal hey!

Travel Planning.

When I have that first call with a prospective client, quite often I’m asked “have you been to …..” ?

I’m extremely lucky to have travelled to many beautiful destinations across the globe, however it’s impossible to have been everywhere, and that’s where my colleagues and contacts come in!

With around 2000 Travel Counsellors operating within the UK, a quick message on our noticeboard and I can find someone that’s travelled to that destination and can give me the intel.

Alongside that I work with highly experienced and knowledgeable Destination Management Companies on the ground in 100’s of destinations that can answer all your questions, together with my network of contacts I’ve developed over the 38 years I’ve worked in the industry.

This is my business run from home but my colleagues, suppliers and contacts have you covered for all your questions, whatever they may be.

This is first hand knowledge the internet doesn’t have, personal experiences mean so much more, along with honest opinions.

And back to reality!

I’ve had a few days out the office and we’ve been up to beautiful Bamburgh in Northumberland. I had a wonderful time with family and it was Ralph’s first visit to the beach, he loved it!

We were so lucky with the weather, apart from a Storm Floris intervention on Sunday morning.
