An important highlight of our school tour to South Africa was visiting Robben Island, where Sir Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his 27-year imprisonment. Guided by an ex-inmate, we walked through the very place that symbolises resilience and hope during one of the most challenging times in South Africa’s history. This experience deepened our appreciation for freedom and the struggles faced in the fight against apartheid. A truly eye opening moment for the TBSHS lads.
