Business update October
October for us, is generally a quieter month and helps us to take stock and plan ahead.
I started that planning by taking a trip to Egypt to attend a digital conference. There was lots going on from planning for our peak season, ways to improve our social media content and overall digital presence. It was also a great opportunity to spend time with suppliers and build key relationships.
We mentioned last month that we’re always keen to learn about new places for our clients at Simon and Debbie - Not Just Travel, as well as traveling to Egypt for the first time, (Best surprise of the month was how close some hotels are to the airport with a 10 minute transfer time, you’re straight on holiday.)
Across October between us we have met with around 20+ tour operators, covering ocean and river cruise, land and tours. We also had a more in depth training, I’m working on a 12 week Luxury course and both Simon and I met with Premier Travel about the British Isles which is becoming more popular for those who love great food and getting outdoors.
We also got a lovely invitation by Virgin Voyages to attend the TTG Travel Star awards, so we hopped on a train to London, after catching up with some friends for lunch, we got glammed up and ready to cheer on some well deserved winners.
You might notice we’ve been talking about Black Friday and that’s because a lot of tour operators have gone early and gone BIG! It’s probably worth a conversation now if you usually require a specific room type, want to bag extra leg room seats or best flight times and most importantly those Free Child Places.
If you wait until January when everyone else is looking you might find their’s less availability to choose from.

Lastly we got to sponsor a b**r at Rainhill B**r Festival for Rainhill Rotary Club. Over the last few years it has raised over £31000 to support Rainhill Community.
So, what will November bring?
I’m taking a trip to Manchester to continue my Luxury training and staying at the Kimpton Clock Tower Hotel. Very Posh!
Simon and I are going to be doing a bit of travelling to a new destination for us: Lithuania.
We’ll be here for a few reasons;
1. We’re being joined by Becky Houlston who is a world-class business and life coach so will be helping us with the next steps of growing our business.
2. We’ll be meeting up with other business owners from NJT to share best practice and build the right processes for the future.
3. We’ll be spending some time in a few different hotels in the heart of Vilnius Centre and then in a luxury 16th Century Mansion - it’s a hard life but someone has to do it.
4. Getting to explore more of Vilnius and all it has to offer from Gastronomy Week and it’s UNESCO listed Baroque Old Town.
We have a new website coming in November and I can’t wait to share it with you, would love to hear what you think.
Lastly Black Friday offers will continue throughout November, with so many offers now running into 2028 and cruises for 2029, there’s no better time to take advantage.
