The Romans are back in York tomorrow!
From 16th–31st May 2026, the Eboracum Roman Festival returns, bringing the ancient world to life across the city. Step into history with an exciting programme of guest speakers, storytellers, walking tours, and hands-on archaeology activities.
Events will be held at the Yorkshire Museum, Museum Gardens, and partner venues across York, in collaboration with York Archaeology, York Minster, University of York, Roman Bath Museum, Uncomfortable York, and City Screen.
🔥 Highlights not to miss:
On 23rd–24th May, the Roman legions will take over Museum Gardens! Meet the soldiers and watch incredible live demonstrations including weaving, carpentry, pottery, and blacksmithing—and even have a go yourself at traditional Roman crafts.
⚔️ Witness thrilling artillery demonstrations throughout the weekend and see how the Romans fought in action.
👶 Young warriors can also join the fun in the Kids Barbaric Battle!
