We spent around 7 months of driving around in Chania's countryside, in order to find the right places & local people that wanted to be part of it.
What we created was a tour of the beaten path but also approachable that does not require extra skills.

We had a wonderful time on this tour! The guide was very knowledgeable. We got to taste great Greek food and beer. We were only in Chania for a few hours because we were on a cruise ship so this was a fantastic use of our time to see the Old Town in such a good way!

Stelios, the owner of the tour company, and our guide for the day, was excellent and very friendly. His knowledge of Greek history, culture and food was amazing. He was also able to explain in detail what is different and unique between specifically ‘Cretan’ food, and Greek food in general.
In a very comfortable car we drove away from Chania towards the white mountains. It was amazing how quiet and tranquil it feels, away from the busy areas.
We visited ancient sites, tiny remote villages, met with small scale producers, trying lots of samples, and then a large and very varied meal cooked by an expert cook. There was also a generous amount of wines to accompany the food. All of this was included in the price of the tour.

Our guide Stelios is passionate about the Cretan culture and was so happy to share his knowledge with us. We were picked up promptly and taken in his very comfortable vehicle to places we never would have gone. After a short ride, we stopped at an ancient roadside chapel, which we learned is maintained by locals. He took us through the gorge and up into the mountains, where we stopped at a most unusual cafe. The owners prepared a delicious, authentic treat . The silence was amazing while looking at the thousand year-old olive tree. The hospitality of the local wine maker was wonderful! He was so proud to share his wine, which was delicious, and olives from his own trees. Our next stop was at the local cafe where we had an amazing meal with typical Cretan recipes. There was too much food and wine to finish!! You will not find the places we went or the roads we traveled on any other tour in Crete!

Booked solo and was matched with three other guests, it felt very personal right from the start. Stelios drove us though the mountains into small villages, we ate delicious authentic Cretan food and drank some very unique wine from a local, small batch producer. Definitely no room for more at the end and I have a big appetite. Just driving through the mountains and into villages was an experience on it's own, we even drove along a group of wild goats wandering in the streets.

I could not have experienced this on my own, or with any other tour actually. Truly a unique experience I would recommend to anyone interested in discovering the beautiful mountains and villages of Crete, with some great food and wine along the way!

A great night out on the town with our amazing tour guide! Plenty of Greek craft beer to be had while exploring the city and its views. We learned a bit about the city’s history, as well as the local craft beer scene. This was a super personal experience, it felt like we were out on the town with an old friend. If you find yourself in Rethymno, do yourself a favor and book this tour!
