UNESCO Recognition for the Minoan Palaces of Crete.
A major cultural milestone for both Crete and all of Greece, as the legendary Minoan palatial centers have officially been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List — joining the ranks of humanity’s most treasured cultural landmarks.
The six sites - Knossos, Phaistos, Malia, Zakros, Zominthos, and Kydonia — once thriving hubs of Europe’s first advanced civilization, are now internationally acknowledged as places of outstanding universal value.

At Cretan Holidays, this recognition carries special meaning. Since the early 1970s, we have consistently included visits to these emblematic archaeological sites in our programs, introducing thousands of travelers to the timeless legacy of the Minoan world.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating: 10 Years On the Islands of Rhodes & Zakynthos

In 2012, we made a strategic decision to expand beyond Crete — establishing our first office on Kos Island, followed gradually by other destinations such as Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, and Thessaloniki.
It’s been an incredible journey, and this year, we are proud to celebrate 10 years of continuous presence in two key destinations: Rhodes and Zakynthos.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our partner Tour Operators for their trust and ongoing support, which has empowered us to evolve into a well-established DMC with a strong presence across Greece.
We are equally grateful to our local suppliers, whose trust and collaboration — earned from the very beginning — have helped us build strong, reliable operations across the islands. None of this would have been possible without the passion and dedication of our local teams, working hand in hand with our colleagues at the head offices to bring our shared vision to life.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to growing with purpose, strengthening our local presence, and delivering exceptional experiences — on every island, with every partner.

After two years of successful collaboration with our valued partner, Grecos Holiday — the leading specialist Tour Operator in Poland for Greece & Cyprus — on East Crete, we are delighted to announce the extension of our partnership to the beautiful regions of Northern Greece: and ! We had the pleasure of welcoming the first Polish guests for the season at Airport on April 16th, followed by the first arrivals at Airport on April 26th.
This new chapter in our collaboration is a true reflection of the trust, shared vision, and strong partnership that have been built between our teams.

We are confident that, together, we will further strengthen Grecos Holiday's presence in Northern Greece, looking ahead with optimism and excitement to another season of successful collaboration, shared achievements, and growth.

🐣 Easter vibes at the office!
Last week, our team at the Head Offices in Heraklion gathered for a cozy morning coffee, while decorating our Estia, the olive and fruit trees around our premises with festive Easter touches. Our Egg Decoration Contest sparked imagination across the departments – and while all entries impressed, the IT department stole the show with their out-of-the-box design!
On Holy Wednesday, the children of our colleagues enjoyed a joyful event full of laughter – with games, dancing, Easter candle decorating, and a thrilling treasure hunt. A heartfelt thank you to our colleague Simone Lehnigk (Mone Lisa), whose crafted creations added that extra bit of magic – just like they always do.
Furthermore traditional Greek Easter koulouria, handmade by local cooperatives, were shared with all employees across the companies of the K. Badouvas - Group of Companies throughout Greece.

Young and old, we were reminded that joy lives in the little things.
And this Easter, we shared plenty of those.

🐾 April 4th - World Stray Animal Day 🐾
At Cretan Holidays, we don’t turn a blind eye to the stray animals that live among us. 🐱 To mark this day, we’ve placed a donation box at our ESTIA to help cover veterinary expenses for our furry friends.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference! For the stray cats that have found a home near our headquarters, we’ve created a safe space where they can find food, shelter, and care.
Some of our amazing colleagues also volunteer their time to ensure these animals are healthy and loved. ❤️
Let’s support them and show that kindness begins with us! 💙

From 17- 20 February, we hosted our Annual Executive Summit in Heraklion, where executives from all our destinations came together to reflect on the past season’s achievements and set new goals for the season ahead. This year’s agenda was further enriched with thought-provoking discussions, including cross-departmental collaboration, cutting-edge insights on technology and AI advancements, HR updates, a SWOT analysis, and an outline of upcoming training sessions.

But the real highlight of this summit was the formal recording of our Company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Purpose, a milestone that brought all executives into alignment and set a clear path forward. It’s been a journey, and we’re thrilled to share these guiding principles soon as we continue to shape our future direction.

After a full week of discussions and valuable insights, we returned to the office with renewed energy and a shared sense of purpose, ready for the challenges ahead and more committed than ever to achieving even greater success.

Spring is calling! 🌸☀️
March is here, bringing with it the cherished tradition of wearing the Martis bracelet—a symbol of spring’s arrival, renewal, and brighter days ahead. At our offices, it has become a beloved custom to share these bracelets with our colleagues, starting the new month and season with a smile and a heart full of positive energy. Woven in red and white, Martis represents life, purity, and protection from the sun’s first rays. According to tradition, it is worn throughout March and later tied to a tree when the first swallow appears, offering warmth to nature’s awakening and bringing good luck and health.

Cretan Holidays introduces ” - A New Tradition of Knowledge & Inspiration

On February 21st, we embarked on a groundbreaking journey with the launch of (ΣυνΔέσεις) our very first company-wide “talks event”.
Its name, meaning , was chosen to inspire our people to connect—both with knowledge and with one another. As a people-oriented company, we aim to raise questions and concerns on everyday issues, extending beyond the workplace, and create an environment that fosters dialogue and interaction, driving personal and professional growth.

Hosted at the amphitheater of the Ελληνικό Μεσογειακό Πανεπιστήμιο - Hellenic Mediterranean University to whom we extend our sincere gratitude for their hospitality—the event brought together all our employees based in Crete for a day of thought-provoking talks designed to inform, inspire, and spark new ways of thinking. To ensure everyone stays connected, the full event video will be shared with colleagues in other destinations.

The first edition of delved into topics analyzed by distinguished guest speakers, including "ESG (by Giannis Aspirtakis - ErgoProlipsis)," "Brain Gymnastics" (by Alexia Mary Tzortzaki, Ph.D.), "Stress Management" (by Fotini Paschidou and "Hidden Forms of Violence" (by Maneta).

🔹 Basics of ESG – Understanding our role in building a sustainable, responsible future and the importance of ethical business practices.
🔹 Brain Gymnastics – Techniques to enhance cognitive function, boost positivity, and strengthen mental agility.
🔹 Stress Management – Practical strategies for balance, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
🔹 Hidden Forms of Violence – Raising awareness of subtle yet harmful behaviors, promoting a culture of respect and inclusion.

Each topic sparked reflection, inspired action, and reinforced our commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.
