๐ฟ๐ WHERE HAVE WE BEEN? ๐๐ฟ
What a fantastic day exploring some of Corfu's hidden gems, local businesses, and wonderful people! โค๏ธ
We started with a visit to the fascinating
Mavroudis Olive Oil before heading to Moraitika, where we made our base at Makis Louvlis Apartments โ highly recommended if you're looking for a warm welcome and a great location. ๐กโจ
We then caught up with members of the local Messonghi & Moraitika community group, originally started many years ago by Heather Skinner. What began as a small community group has grown into a fantastic local information hub helping both residents and visitors alike. ๐โค๏ธ
After that it was time for pizza! ๐๐ A delicious stop at Giacomo's Pizza Pasta & Wine
certainly hit the spot.
Following our early morning adventure at the Lioumpas Bakery, we visited several local businesses including Nyssos Corfu Olive Oil - Lab & Expo Their own olive oils, handcrafted olive wood products and an absolutely incredible balsamic-infused olive oil are well worth trying! ๐ฟ๐ซ
Popped into Corfu On Wheels Rentals Car & Scooter Rental Corfu and got collared to wash a car๐คฃ Sadly we didn't get yo meet the great couple who run Corfu Lift Off ๐ข
Sadly, we were a little too early to eat at Mammas Taverna ๐ข๐ฝ๏ธ, where traditional Corfiot dishes are prepared with passion and care. The chef, who is the owner's son, is an absolute master when it comes to flavour and taste, creating dishes that keep both locals and visitors coming back for more. ๐ฌ๐ทโค๏ธ We'll definitely be returning soon!
We also popped in to see Rita, who we've known for many years, before taking a stroll along the wooden pier that was saved thanks to local community efforts. ๐

From there we hugged the old coast road, dropped into Agios Gordios, then headed up to Pelekas for a LIVE feed from
Bella Vista Sunset Restaurant Pelekas The views were breathtaking and the food was absolutely superb! ๐

We finished the evening at the church celebrations in Gouvia enjoying the traditional music, dancing and wonderful atmosphere. ๐ถ๐โช And of course a YAMMAS video ๐บ
Days like this remind us that Corfu isn't just about beaches and sunshine, it's about the people, traditions, local businesses and hidden places that make this island so special. โค๏ธ๐ฌ๐ท
