🎼 International Philharmonic Festival of the Ionian Islands

Corfu’s incredible philharmonic tradition will take centre stage as bands and musicians come together from across the Ionian Islands and Europe for two days celebrating music, culture and history.

🇬🇷 Numerous historic Corfu and Ionian philharmonic societies will be taking part alongside international guests from:

🇮🇹 Italy
🇷🇸 Serbia
🇵🇱 Poland
🇺🇦 Ukraine

⭐ And there’s a VERY special guest...

🎤 AL BANO 🇮🇹

The legendary Italian singer will appear as Guest Star, with special participation from Foteini Darra and the Corfu Dancers’ Association.

Corfu has one of the richest musical traditions in Greece, so seeing so many historic philharmonic societies together with international performers should make this a fantastic couple of days. 🎺🥁🎷

🇬🇷☀️ What a busy first day off exploring Corfu! 🚙🥾🌊

We headed up and over the top of the island, travelling through the beautiful villages of Spartilas, Strinilas, Lafki, Petalia and Paleo Perithia, before making our way down to Agios Spyridon Beach. 🏘️⛰️

🥾 We took a walk around part of the area where the Corfu Trail comes to an end, before heading over to one of everyone's favourites Kassiopi. 💙🇬🇷

From there, it was a drive back down the stunning east coast, with time for a refreshing swim at Barbati 🏊‍♂️🌊 before heading back to the house for a quick freshen-up and then out for dinner. 🍽️🍷

🍂 September and October really are fantastic months for exploring Corfu.

🚗 Less traffic
👫 Far fewer tourists
☀️ Usually lovely weather
🥾 Perfect for walking and hiking
🚴 Great for cycling

🇬🇷 Strinilas (Στρινύλας) is one of Corfu’s highest traditional villages, sitting at around 650 metres on the slopes of Mount Pantokrator. ⛰️

With its old stone houses and narrow lanes, the village offers a glimpse into Corfu’s mountain heritage, where farming, olives, vineyards and livestock were once at the heart of everyday life.

🍽️ At the heart of Strinilas you’ll find the traditional Oasis Taverna, known for hearty local cooking, including proventina which is aged sheep a traditional Corfiot speciality along wild boar.
