Halloween translates to “night of the witches” (Noć vještica), and is not traditionally celebrated here in Croatia. 🎃

As a Catholic-majority country, the holiday is actually a bit controversial as some see it as inviting bad energy or spirits, especially on the eve of All Saints’ Day on November 1. 🕯️ 💐

Today we dive deeper into the history of the Zagreb witch trials that were in reality, much worse than the Salem witch trials. 😳
