Visiting Tvrdić Honey on Šolta was one of those experiences that stays with you. We had a great late September visit.

Goran is a superlative human being—warm, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his bees and the work he does. It was genuinely lovely just spending time with him, learning about the bees, the honey, and his approach to beekeeping.

This is much more than simply stopping somewhere to buy honey. You come away with a greater appreciation for bees, the people who care for them, and the role they play in our world.

We need more people like Goran. If you’re visiting Šolta, make the time to stop here.

Give bees a chance!

Šolta is 16 km from Split and still overlooked. I visited most of its villages, from Maslinica to Stomorska. Here is what is worth your time.
