📖 A Journey Through the Bible Lands 🌍

A group of pastors from Tanzania is currently undertaking a profound spiritual pilgrimage through the Holy Land. 🙏

Their journey began in Cairo, Egypt 🇪🇬, where they marveled at the ancient Pyramids of Giza and visited the historic Hanging Church ⛪. From there, they ascended Mount Sinai ⛰️ under the stars ✨—a powerful moment of reflection and connection to biblical history.

Crossing into Israel 🇮🇱, they have visited many sacred sites, including the Mount of Olives 🌿, the Garden of Gethsemane 🌸, the Upper Room, the Garden Tomb, the Western Wall 🧱, and the Church of the Nativity 🌟, among others.

The pilgrimage continues with a visit to the baptismal site on the Jordan River, a serene boat ride on the Sea of Galilee 🚤, and stops in Capernaum, the Mount of Beatitudes, Nazareth, and Cana of Galilee—tracing the very footsteps of Jesus ✝️.

Their final leg will take them into Jordan 🇯🇴 via Mount Nebo, where Moses first glimpsed the Promised Land, before concluding their journey in Amman 🕌 and returning home.

What an unforgettable journey!

Last week, our group from Senegal completed a truly blessed pilgrimage to the Holy Land. They spent a week walking in the footsteps of Christ, experiencing the powerful beauty of Israel during the Easter season. They prayed on Mount Tabor, celebrated Mass at Capharnaüm, renewed their baptismal promises at the Jordan River, and walked the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre.

Special moments included the moving foot-washing Mass at St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Veneration of the Cross on Good Friday, and a beautiful Easter Vigil. They visited sacred sites in Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Jericho, Qumran, and even floated in the Dead Sea! Each day brought new graces, deep prayer, joyful fellowship, and unforgettable memories.

This extraordinary journey will remain forever engraved in their hearts, carrying home unforgettable memories of faith, fellowship, and grace.

Quel voyage inoubliable !

La semaine dernière, notre groupe du Sénégal a accompli un pèlerinage véritablement béni en Terre Sainte. Ils ont passé une semaine à marcher sur les pas du Christ, découvrant la beauté puissante d’Israël en cette saison pascale.
Ils ont prié au Mont Thabor, célébré la messe à Capharnaüm, renouvelé leurs promesses baptismales au Jourdain, et parcouru la Via Dolorosa jusqu’au Saint-Sépulcre. Parmi les moments forts : la messe émouvante du lavement des pieds à la Basilique Saint-Étienne, la vénération de la Croix le Vendredi Saint, et une magnifique Vigile Pascale.
Ils ont visité des lieux sacrés à Nazareth, Bethléem, Jérusalem, Jéricho, Qumrân, et ont même flotté sur la mer Morte ! Chaque jour a apporté de nouvelles grâces, une prière profonde, une joyeuse fraternité et des souvenirs inoubliables.

Ce voyage extraordinaire restera à jamais gravé dans leurs cœurs, emportant avec eux des souvenirs impérissables de foi, d’amitié et de grâce.

Today, we say goodbye to a visionary, a pioneer, and a man whose life was dedicated to service, faith, and human connection. Mike Amir, one of the esteemed founders of Vered HaSharon, who passed away at the age of 102, was more than a leader—he was an inspiration, and embodied the very essence of our organization.

Born in Australia in 1923, Mike’s journey was extraordinary. He served in the Australian Army during World War II and later joined the British Army as an intelligence officer in Palestine. Witnessing the tragic fate of Jewish refugees aboard the Exodus, he took a courageous stand—leaking intelligence and even smuggling arms to the Hagana, helping to shape Israel’s fight for independence. As one of the founders of the IDF Artillery Corps, his contributions to the nation’s security were invaluable.

His career in tourism was just as groundbreaking. As the Manager of American Express in Tel Aviv and later the founder of Sharon Tours International Ltd., Mike revolutionized religious pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He was the first to truly understand the unique spiritual expectations of each pilgrim, believing that "Their faith is in our hands." This philosophy became the foundation of Vered HaSharon, where his wisdom and vision continue to inspire generations of professionals.

Mike’s long life was a testament to his enduring spirit, unwavering commitment, and deep compassion. Even in his later years, he remained a guiding light for our company and the industry he helped build.

We extend our deepest condolences to his beloved wife, Sara, his family, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Rest in peace, Mike. Your legacy will forever be part of Vered HaSharon and the countless lives you touched.
