JBG Goechala Trail Ultra 2026: Closing Note
The curtains have closed on an unforgettable edition of the Goechala Trail Run. Standing in the shadow of the Himalayas, I am filled with deep gratitude for the mountains and the incredible community that made this happen.
Organizing a race in this remote rugged terrain is a relentless challenge of logistics, altitude, and weather. What looked like a single day of racing was months of coordination and belief. Despite the odds, we made it happen.
A Special Acknowledgment:
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Jai Balaji Group. Their interest and growing support for endurance sports are vital to the growth of this community. Thank you for believing in the spirit of the trail.
Heartfelt Thanks To:
Authorities: Khangchendzonga National Park, Yuksom Gram Panchayet, Adventure Cell and the Tourism Dept for allowing us into this sacred landscape.
Key Facilitators: Mr. Sanjeeb Limboo (Smile Sikkim) for crucial local coordinations, volunteers and Mr. Amar S***a for his constant guidance.
The Ground Officials: The Ultra Runner Pritam Rai for demanding route marking; Team Sportiz (Specially Mr. Nishant Maheswari, Mrs. Shradha Mehta, Mr. Sudip Basu, Mr. Gairik Basu), Timekeepers for precision timing, promotions; and the high-altitude support from Dquests (Including Pritam, Biplab, Soumyadip & Sreejan).
Our Partners: Up & Run, The Whole Truth Energy, Red Bull, and our hospitality partner, Hotel Himsagar.
The Backbone: Our tireless volunteers, medical teams, and photographers who braved the elements.
To the Runners: You are the heart of this race. Thank you for your trust, your endurance, and for pushing beyond your limits. We already saw new course records in 3 distance categories.
We know a race this grueling comes with learning curves. We are committed to evolving and improving with every edition.
This isn't the end—it’s just the beginning. We’ll see you next year, stronger and with more "colourful feathers."
Keep exploring. Keep pushing. Respect the mountains.
