We’ve always said we’ll take you off the beaten path, but we usually try to keep all four wheels on the ground. This shot from our last Saharan scouting trip is the perfect reminder of why we do what we do: because the most memorable moments happen when you stop following the GPS and start following the feeling.

Morocco is our second home. It’s the place where we’ve traded stories with carpet weavers over endless cups of tea and found the kind of silence in the dunes that stays with you long after you’ve flown home. We don’t just “book” these trips; we live them with you.

There is a specific kind of stillness that only the Moroccan desert provides at golden hour, and today, we are finally stepping back into it.

As we lead our first curated group of the year through Morocco, the emotions are as vivid as the landscape itself.

For us, 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 has a way of 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 that no other continent can match. It is a land of dramatic dualities—where the rugged majesty of the Atlas Mountains and the deep, carved stillness of the gorges and canyons provide a backdrop for a journey of the senses. We find a unique beauty in how the vibrant, sensory chaos of the medina melts into the profound isolation of the desert.

This rare harmony, where energy and absolute solitude coexist, is what we consider the truest definition of 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐥𝐮𝐱𝐮𝐫𝐲. ✨

A few weeks ago, Fernando’s phone rang. It was our dear friend Juan Manuel Hidalgo with a quiet question:

“I’m bottling a special edition Amontillado—just 200 bottles for my closest friends and clients. Shall I save one for you?”

That call was an absolute gift.

This morning, Fernando took the short walk through the streets of Jerez to the bodega to finally bring it home!!

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝐄𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨, 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢ó𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐚.

It is a brilliant “amontillado fino”—impossibly light in its structure, yet utterly intoxicating in its depth. To pour this is to pour a literal portion of history.

These are the quiet privileges of calling Andalusia home—just good friends, shared history, and the kind of privileged invitations we cherish sharing with our community. 🥂
