WHY WE DO THIS…

When we opened our doors last May- our home, our hearts, our crazy 12th-century palazzo renovation- Nido di Gufi became something bigger than a dream. It became a place where family, friends, and complete strangers arrive… and somehow leave as part of our story.

Renovating a medieval palazzo in the heart of Todi has been a journey 😂- equal parts magic and mayhem. And as new hoteliers, we often ask ourselves… Are we getting it right?

Then yesterday, everything became beautifully clear.

One of our youngest guests left us a handwritten card (a lost art these days!). Delivered by hand. Straight to the heart. 💌

ORVIETO… AND A MAGICAL NIGHT.

It was bitterly cold here yesterday… the kind of cold that makes the whole world quiet.
But even so, our evening in Orvieto- another hilltop jewel just 30 minutes from Nido di Gufi- was pure enchantment.

Not many braved the weather, which meant the streets were ours… hushed, golden, intimate.
And it’s in those unexpected moments, far from the tourist shuffle, that you feel the true magic of a place.

One of the things I adore about living in Todi is the constant stream of unexpected magic. In full transparency, I’m still learning Italian- so half the time I discover what’s happening in town simply by wandering into it. And honestly… I kind of love it that way.

Like this Sunday, when we strolled into Piazza del Popolo for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find an entire collection of vintage cars gleaming in the spring sunlight. No announcement, no plan… just pure, delightful serendipity.
