Our Japan Adventures:
The sacred peaks of the Southern Alps, Hōō Sanzan.

I traversed these mountains, whose name truly lives up to their grandeur.

Jizō-ga-take, Yakushi-ga-take, and Kannon-ga-take.

For centuries, these peaks have been revered as sacred mountains and places of worship. Their names, drawn from important Buddhist figures, reflect the deep spiritual significance they have held for generations of pilgrims and mountain ascetics.

The climb to reach them was steep and demanding. There were many moments when I wanted to give up.

But with each step, I embraced the solitude, taking time to appreciate where I was and fully experience the present moment.

This is not an easy route. It requires a reasonable level of fitness and is best done as a two-day trek with an overnight stay.

Walking the ridgeline early in the morning was one of the highlights of the journey. Surrounded by crisp mountain air and endless views, it was an experience that felt both peaceful and unforgettable.

Passing on Japan’s spirit to the next generation.

As Japan faces an aging population and continued urbanization, many rural areas are experiencing a shortage of successors to carry their communities forward.
The landscapes and traditions that have been protected for generations cannot be taken for granted.

What we can do may be small, but we hope to contribute through a more sustainable form of tourism.

This tour with truly reflects that vision.
Wonderful guests, beautiful nature, and the incredible local people who continue to care for these places and keep their spirit alive.

Travel has the power to connect people and place.

We hope Japan’s beauty will continue for generations to come.

🗻 Behind the scenes of our next Japan Adventure🗻

Today, we visited the foothills of Mt. Fuji to experience Fujikō, a centuries-old tradition where people once climbed the mountain for spiritual blessings.
It was one of Japan’s earliest travel movements—full of devotion, community, and the deep desire to “meet” the mountain.

Though the tradition has nearly disappeared today, local guides are working to bring it back.
And stepping into their world felt like opening a door to the real Mt. Fuji—
not the one you photograph, but the one you feel.

We’re now shaping this into a new cultural experience for future travelers.
A journey into the roots of Mt. Fuji, and into the relationship between the mountain and the people of Japan.
