The northern part of the Connecticut River near its source made for an amazing four day overnight canoe trip.  There was lots of wildlife including loons, geese, mergansers bald eagles, 🦅 osprey, and a black bear on the last day.  The Connecticut River Paddlers Trail group maintains campsites and access points along the river for those who want to make an extended trip. The upper river has lots of class 1 whitewater and quick water.
