PROCEDURE AT THE DEPORTATION CENTER BEFORE DEPORTATION IN SAUDI ARABIA
(Important Information for Kenyan Nationals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
The general procedures followed at deportation centers prior to deportation. This information is provided for public awareness:
1. Arrest and Detention
A person may be arrested for violations such as overstaying a visa, working without a valid permit, absconding, or other immigration or legal offenses.
The individual is taken to a designated detention or deportation center under the authority of the relevant Saudi government agencies.
The reason for detention is formally recorded in accordance with Saudi laws and regulations.
2. Verification and Case Processing
Personal details, fingerprints, and photographs are taken for identification and record purposes.
Authorities verify immigration status, travel documents, and any pending legal or financial obligations.
The case is reviewed to determine whether deportation, repatriation, or further legal action is required.
3. Settlement of Fines and Obligations
Before deportation, any applicable fines or penalties related to immigration or residency violations must be settled.
Outstanding obligations, where applicable, must be resolved in accordance with Saudi regulations.
4. Issuance of Deportation Decision
A deportation or removal decision is issued by the competent Saudi authorities, depending on the nature of the offense.
In some cases, a re-entry ban may be imposed in line with Saudi law.
5. Coordination with the Embassy
Where travel documents are unavailable or expired, the Saudi authorities may coordinate with the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya to facilitate issuance of an Emergency Travel Certificate.
Consular access may be granted in line with applicable regulations.
6. Travel Arrangements
Once all procedures are completed, travel arrangements are made.
The individual is transferred from the deportation center to the airport under official supervision for departure to Kenya or another approved destination.
