The white patch you see is lewis glacier one of the few glaciers remaining on Mt Kenya.

These glaciers play a vital role especially supplying towns like Nanyuki, Timau, Meru etc with fresh water, and the moment they are gone, dry towns like Nanyuki will face water shortage for it's residents and animals.

Therefore global warming is real it's difficult to reverse but play a part in it by doing nature preservation where you are.
