🥾⛰️ Conquer Onion Mountain! ⛰️🥾

Looking for a challenge? Take on the 8.5km, 4.5-hour hike up Onion Mountain, with a 480m climb that rewards you with breathtaking bird’s-eye views of Luang Prabang, the Mekong, and surrounding peaks. 🌄 The mountain gets its name from the spring onions and chillies planted by local villagers, thriving in the cooler, higher-altitude climate.

This is the most demanding hike starting from Hillside Lodge, but the panoramic vistas make every step worth it! 🌿✨ Guided tours are recommended, but adventurers can go solo—just check with Mr. Khan or Mr. Holger first, as overgrown paths may add to the challenge.

Go self-guided, equipped with GPS tracks and a machete in hand to clear the overgrown path, this trek is not just a journey but an unforgettable adventure.

We've been hard at work over the last months making our bungalows even more homely.

We added insulation to walls and roof to not only make chilly nights more cozy but also give you more peace and quiet improving soundproofing.

Newly renovated our bungalows now provide you with even more comfort for you perfect stay in the midst of nature just outside Luang Prabang. Especially now as nights can get surprisingly cold, the new insulation and our heating-capable aircons will keep you warm cozy.
