දැනගෙන ගියොත් කතරගම නොදැන ගියොත් අතමග,මේ කතාවෙන් කියවෙන්නෙ මහදෙවුල ගැන නොව කැබිලිත්ත දෙවුල ගැනය, විදේශ ආක්රමණයක් කතරගම දේවාලයට එල්ල වන විට එවකට කතරගම දේවලය බාරව සිටියා යැයි කියන කැබිලිත්ත රාල කියන පූජකවරයකු විසින් කතරගම දේවාලයේ තිබූ දේව ආභරණ අම්මා දේවාලය හෙවත් කුඩා කැබිලිත්ත දේවාලය වෙත රැගෙනවිත් ඇති අතර එතැන් පටන් කුඹුක්කන් ඔය දිගේ එතුමා විසින් මෙම කැබිලිත්ත කියන ස්ථානය වෙත මෙම ආභරණ ගෙනැවිත් තිබේඑම ස්ථානයේ පිහිටන්නා වූ විශාල සියඹලා ගසක මෙම ආභරණ සගවා ආරක්ෂා කර තිබිනි. මෙම පූජනීය ස්ථානය වෙත මාර්ග 3කින් ගමන් කල හැකි අතර එම ගමන් මාර්ග අතිශය දුශ්කර ගමන් මාර්ග ලෙස හැදින්විය හැකිය, සාමාන්ය දුර ප්රමානය 45km පමණ වුවද එය යාමට පැය 6ක් 7ක් පමණ ගත වේ,දේවොල වෙත යාමට එතරම් වෙලාවක් ගියද දෙවොලේ සිට නැවත පැමිණීමට එතරම් කාලයක් ගත නොවීම විස්ම සහගත සිදුවීමකි, දේවල භූමිය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට සද්දන්තයන් තිදෙනෙකු සිටින අතර දේවාල භූමියේ සිට සියඹලා බෝධිය වෙත මීටර් 100ක දුරක්වත් නොමැති නමුත් දේවල භූමියේ කෙරෙන පූජා වැඩ කටයුතු කිසිම දෙයක් එම ස්ථානයට නොඇසෙන එක විස්ම සහගත සිදුවීමකි.කැබිලිත්ත දේවාලයේ ආරක්ෂාව සදහා වැඩ සිටින දෙවියන් ලෙස කඩවර දෙවියන් මූලිකත්වය ගෙන වැඩ සිටින බව පැවසේ.

When a foreign invasion was launched against the Kataragama Devala, a priest named Kebiliththa Rala, who was said to be in charge of the Kataragama Devala at that time, had brought the divine ornaments from the Kataragama Devala to the Amma Devala or the small Kebiliththa Devala. Since then, he has brought these ornaments along the Kumbukkan Oya to this place called Kebiliththa. He had hidden and protected these ornaments in a large tamarind tree located at that place. There are 3 routes to this sacred place and these routes can be described as extremely difficult routes. Although the average distance is about 45km, it takes about 6 to 7 hours to travel. It is an amazing fact that even though it takes so much time to go to the temple, it does not take much time to return from the temple. There are three Saddantas to protect the temple grounds and the Siyambala Bodhi tree is not even 100 meters away from the temple grounds, but it is an amazing fact that no puja activities are being carried out at the temple grounds. It is said that the Kadawara God is the deity who is responsible for the protection of the Kebiliththa temple.
